POSTAL 2

Nicks Coop [5025]

Mod almost worked after unsubbing
Tried to start playing with a friend, I kept seeing an unpacking error when I loaded up the game, I tried unsubbing from this mod and resubbing but that didn't fix it, I then tried unsubbing and starting Postal 2 and suddenly it works even though I unsubbed, but I'm still not able to play. I can get up to about starting a new game, but as soon as the load bar is done the game exits and I get a critical error.

An error has occurred. If you continually get the same error, try loading a different save file, submit a bug report, and/or check the Support Forums for assistance.

Re-subbing to mod still gives an unpacking error but the game still seems to think I have the mod already.

I got it working.

I opened the local files for Postal 2 (right click Postal 2 > Manage > Browse Local Files) and deleted everything in the "Save" folder, I also deleted the entire "WorkshopContent" folder (delete the folder not just everything inside). I verified the games files, right click Postal 2 > Properties > Local Files > Verify Integrity of Game Files). I ran Postal 2 to make sure it was completely unmodded, you'll still be able to see the workshop menu in-game when you select new game which is fine, just check and make sure Nicks Coop isn't there. I quit Postal 2 and resubbed to Nicks Coop and ran Postal 2 again, this time there was no unpacking error.

All that's left is to make a new game and go to workshop and select Nicks Coop which will reset the game. It should all be working from then on hopefully for everyone who has my problem.

I had the same issue and your instructions helped me. I unsubscribed to all mods, deleted the Save and WorkshopContent folders (no saves were erased but I made copies of the folders), verified cache, launched game, closed game, resubscribed, and it worked.

Thanks!
