ZZ Mech Modifications
Whats with the "possible equips" text in the Pirate/Rho mech vehicle files? What's with the pyro cutlass?
So i was browsing through this mod's game files, not for anything notorious mind you, after i learned that the original WIP art for the piraterhomech not only was at one time equipped with a "Pyro cutlass" but what looked like a smg mecha battle rifle and immediately went looking through the files to see if it was possible to get that instead of the UP loving lmg it has.

I was surprised to find that in the vehicle file for the mech not only can you change the values for the mech like energy and speed but that it seems to readily have a way of switching certain weapons out for the rho mechs:

rho_mech- sword, machinegun, gravgun, laser gun(WIP)
pirate_rho_mech- sword, machinegun, gravgun, laser gun (WIP)

So with a coupl- NO... several hours worth of experimentation i managed to give the ZZ rho mech a battle rifle (the exact thing i was looking for) to replace the gravgun (things like that are only useful in Half-Life anyway) and then tried to replace the pirated mech's gravgun with a sword or the "Pyro Cutlass"...

turned down the "power" for the Battle Rifle from 600 to 6 because 1800 damage in one shot was the definition of META/OP and it worked, albeit have to give the arm a paint job since its that turqoise, but when i tried to use the Pyro Cutlass on the piraterhomech it did a couple of things...

-could break rocks and jars but did no damage to enemies as in no hit numbers came up
-said enemies i believe became invincible after being hit and didn't register hits
-my game crashed saying something about the damage was unknown for the weapon 2hsword
also
-the battle rifle doesn't aggro enemies, i don't know why

Anyone know Whats up since i really don't like the Rho mechs because of the gravity gun thingy?

Just want to point out for any of you who want to f**k with the xs & zz mod files to enhance your single-player experience with the pirated rho mech(s):

1) In order to switch the gravity thingy with a fiery plasma slash on the pirated rho mech you have to go to the projrctiles folder in the xs mech mod folder and go to the plasmaswoosh folder.
There change the the pyro cutlass swoosh folders (there's 4 files there that say pyrocutlass- swooshup, -swooshupf, -swooshdown, -swooshdownf) by changing the kind of damage from "2hsword" to "broadsword" and "testburning" to just "burning".
2) have fun shootin' and slashin' shist

you know you did something wrong by hitting enemies and if enemies glow become and invincible or the game crashes.

IIRC, the original design for the Pirate Rho was essentially a normal Rho with a different skin. A lot of loose files are still hanging around, I might use them at some point to bring that mech back. As for the battle rifle, I think the original author was playing around with the Rho design, but ended up giving the rifle to the Pirate Rho instead.

You may have also seen some WIP mechs haha, working on that audio mech at the moment, but the penumbral is probably going to get a redesign.

Yeah that penumbral mech looked pretty tight... when i looked at it i thought Bayonetta but less sexy and more chicken-walker/railgun. nothin' wrong with pimped out mechs.

The gold on it is very flat looking at the moment, probably gonna either change it or give it more pizazz before it's ready. :)
