The TF logo replacing the pokeball insignia from the first model and the no pokeballs are probably to prevent cpoyright problems and such

You're also talking about it being on the actual hat. Even if the insignia was on the hat, they couldn't copyright it.

Normal pokeballs for red team, great balls/dive balls for blu
