The main infantry template it should normally be using after researching human wave is 7x infantry (11.2 width). IIRC the reason I did that was to reduce the amount of divisions a bit so that the AI doesn't need so many extra leaders but I think I might reduce it back to 6x infantry to reduce the width penalties.
Unless you changed China yourself, it should be using 10w or 11.2w and it does in my quick test at least. Maybe in late war it could be using a few larger anti tank divisions or such and sometimes while the AI is in the middle of upgrading its templates, it temporarily uses weird widths. But it shouldn't affect its main infantry divisions.
