Questions about the mod
Can someone explain exactly what the Historical mode option does? I thought the AI was already designed to operate in a historical way. "build units more historically and predictably"...what does that mean exactly? Is there a list of historical Divisions/vehicles/ships?

But then it says "Don't expect real historical accuracy" in the next sentence. So I don't get it. It says historical and then it says don't expect historical. Doesn't make any sense to me.

Performance mode says that it limits the United States to a "more historical amount" of Divisions. What exactly does that mean? Why does it only affect the United States? Division spam is a problem for every country in the vanilla game.

I'm not sure I understand why there is an option to stop the invasion of Norway. I've never seen the Axis have serious problems in Norway. What exactly is the issue?

Finally, I'd like some kind of explanation regarding the AI Lend Lease improvements. How much more willing does it make the AI to send Lend Lease? Who does it affect?

In this game you can build your army/air/navy in many ways. Medium tanks, heavy tanks, division sizes, doctrines etc. In this mod the AI can do so as well unlike in vanilla which always does the same thing. It means that countries (majors mostly) will use somewhat more historical setups instead of doing what's best for example but without BICE level historical accuracy in exact division setups etc.

Because USA in particular can create such a massive army compared to what it did historically and because limiting its army doesn't really have that much effect on how the game progresses whereas doing the same for the other majors that have a bigger role in the war with their armies would certainly cause issues for the AIs.

Problem is with Germany overcommitting divisions to Norway and additionally division shuffling between Norway and Europe. It irks some people and they want Germany to focus everything on the mainland.

It makes them a lot more willing in general but perhaps it was more relevant in the past versions of HOI4. It affects every AI and the decision process is somewhat complex so there's no simple answer.

The mod documentation might help you understand how the mod works in general.

I just want to thank you for your mod. Paradox should hire you or contract you to work on the AI. The AI in vanilla is severely lacking and really just ruins the game for experienced players. Especially in regards to the AI's Division design. I want to point out the excellent Paradoxos Mod Manager which can help users figure out which mods conflict and change load order. It's an invaluable tool.

According to the Mod Manager I should be able to use the following mods with the Expert AI 4.0 Mod because they don't alter the same files:

Allied Construction Projects, Channel Islands, More Division Icons, Move Your Capital UPDATED 1.8+, Player-Led Peace Conferences, Puppet Manager, State Transfer Tool, Soldier's Radio, Japanese Historical Flag, Historical German Flag.

I wish I could use the overhaul mod Road To 56 but I don't think I can. The Mod Manager says they touch a lot of the same files. Maybe the Road To 56 team could make a version that is compatible?
