you should make a map that instead of one house you can get to destroy, you can get to destroy multiple houses instead, like a town or a village!

I was acually going to suggest something similar. This may take a while to construct, but a map with a few collapsable towers would be neat. They wouldn't even have to be decorated on the inside. I think just being able to destroy a building in Gmod is fun enough. We need a lot more maps like these on the workshop. Gmod is a physics sandbox after all, so why not make all buildings destructible? That adds to the fun in my opinion. Most maps are too static for me.

Here is the thing. There is a hard limit in gmod (and most source engine games) the limits you to 1024 destructable pieces. I can make a larger area of stuff to smash but it would have to be a lot less detailed because this map is at about 950 or so. So a larger map with less detailed buildings is coming but please, have realistic expectations of what is possible in current gmod.

Also, that i a good idea with less detailed destructable towers.

Yeah, I figured larger buildings would have to be less detailed for the exact reason you stated. Games built on engines like CryEngine or Frostbite would have a much higher limit since the engines are far more optimized. I'm a programmer myself, and it's sad to see that Garry's Mod hasn't been ported to a much better engine like Source 2. It's still a great game nevertheless. Even if you made a map where the buildings looked like crap, but there are a plethora of buildings to destroy, I'm sure a massive amount of people would subscribe to it just because there is so much to destroy.

By the way, the capshouse map is still a lot of fun despite there being only one building. I've been bombing it for about an hour so far and haven't gotten tired of it at all!

I have a small suggestion for you. Remove the brick base of the house so we can drive cars and stuff into it. Thanks for the awesome map! :steamhappy:

Heads up to everyone in this thread talking about a destructable town, it's already been done. It's called phys_town_v2. Look it up.

However, that isn't to say I wouldn't like to see a destructible Chernobyl, or perhaps a destructible Pripyat map!
how about you make a sort of the same house but this time make it hang from like a cliff

Yeah I know... but I think he can make it better.

I'm glad you think that and maybe I can. Yeah, that map is def looking a little dated these days.

What about making an abandonded version of gm_tower lobby 1 that would be awesome :D

You know what the workshop needs? A good stunt car map!

Various sizes of loops, corkscrews/'barrel rolls', a nice ramp over a pit or something, stuff like that! I know it doesn't really sound like a physics map, but you could always add a road with a destructable wall at the end or a series of breakable poles to drive through.

The advantage of having only a few destructable things would be that you could add individual bricks or chunks!
I think you should do something so when objects have nothing under them completely they should just fall...

I'm pretty sure the Source engine doesn't like that... That would require them to constantly move or vibrate or something, and that would kill your gpu or cpu.
