And another interesting one I found, an uncolonized island is the emperor of the HRE
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=751556447
For the HRE problem; I can add events that will clear away any game generation bugs, but that will immediately triple the crash rate. I may create a more complex mod later on that has additional features at the expense of world generation stability.
Thoughts?
Unfortunately I can no longer get a Random World to generate, either with my altered mod copy or with your unaltered mod. Crashes at different parts of world generation each time.
Now, the error logs aren't ENTIRELY blank on this. The Exception error log times seems to match up with my world generation failures. But they are hardly helpful, and seem to be some sort of memory access violation, looking similar to this:
######## EXCEPTION: 0xC0000005 at address: 0x01269EE9: ACCESS VIOLATION write attempt to address 0x37C17B44
Version: Unknown Version
08/26/16 23:59:02
Might be completely unrelated, but it can't be a coincidence that there are eight entries in the list corresponding to my eight tries at World Generation that have failed, all at the correct time periods.
It's a bit over my head to troubleshoot this, but maybe this will help you?
Out of curiosity, how many gigs of RAM do you have? If I'm right then memory is the defining characteristic as to whether or not the game crashes. If this is the case, then it's highly unlikely I can do anything about it as this is hardcoded into the game. If I could I would be able to do so many cool things from increasing the map size to removing the province limit for individual tiles.
I did have several web browsers, File Explorer and Notepads as well as EU4 when I was trying to mod the game, and normally I just have EU4 only, maybe this pushed something over the edge?
if this is the issue, maybe we could ask Paradox to raise the limit :). Or at least make it moddable.
