Just posting some shots from my own server of the boats we've made from this mod. If you feel so inclined, come help me show the mod authors some appreciation. :-)

All boats were built using Advanced Rafts and Structures Plus. Primary defensive armament is Joan's Photon Sentry turrets, usually hid behind double doors from Extra Ark Double Doors. The doors and turrets are tied to the same pincode, so the doors will open as the turrets arm (yes, this is PvE).

The first several metal boats were done in singleplayer as experiments to get the layout and everything right and try out different designs. The tri-hull in the last post was ground for and built on our live server and is my primary base.

I followed your lead and used both Advanced Rafts and S+ to make this. To protect the underside, I used S+ Glass Foundations underneath the wooden ones, and then made them all transparent (including invisible sides). I also placed them along-side the first level of wood foundations / at water level, as side protection (since they're as strong as metal). The only downside to this is that I could no longer get the anchor to "work", in the sense that I could no longer climb up it to get back into the ship. It...and part of the chain...basically "ran into" certain foundations along the way up, and would block my progress.

I left the cargo hatch open in the photos, sorry about that.

Painted the sails black. Used electrical cable to simulate ropes.

Some tips: Place your ground electrical cable, then the vertical where you want the masts to go. But you may want to actually place that vertical cable ALSO wherever you can get a pillar to snap. Because after I sent up the vertical cable, I placed the masts and THEN tried placing the pillars. But only one of the two masts was really about spot-on for its location for that. So, I sent up a wooden pillar... so I could make a "crow's nest" at the top of it. (My only regret is that I couldn't figure out how to make it circular / a bucket.)

Once the vertical cables are up, you can snap the angled cables to them to make your ropes.
