Just a quick note that I am seeing the Bio Rockets from the start. Clean install with 113 mods. I didn't notice when they showed up exactly, but it was in the first month. Modlist here: http://pastebin.com/KUfiqsKp

3 mods on your list stand out for me that might be an issue
1. Handy Heavy Weapons
2. Buildible Items ini replacement
3. Mod everything

I'll have to look into these and see what exactly they do as another guy reporting seeing one of the vests from the start also had these on his list.

Thank you for your work! The conflict is definitely not game breaking as it shows up but is not 'equipable'.

Yeah there is an issue with the Bio Vest too also showing up early, and I think I have that tracked down to an issue with another mod. Which is the Experimental Item Unlock Mod.

So I got around to killing a Bio Viper and collecting the corpse to see what happens if I research it while both the vest and rocket are already purchasable.

Turns out the autopsy doesn't exist at all. >w>
No autopsy shows up, but checking engineering shows that I DO have the corpse and in fact can build the items.

I also have the three above mods I think.
Worth looking into.

I still can not reproduce this issue you are having. I have now started numerous new games and not a single one has allowed me to see or build either item from the start and or any time before ive done the autopsy on the Bio Viper. All I can suggest at this time is to just do a test and ty starting a new game and play with just the Bio Troops mod to see if you have the same issue and or a select few mods and see what happens. You may have to do a few different games with different mods you feel could be causing this and do a process of elemination. I really would think that if it was something I or my other coder did wrong in a line of code, that many many many more people would be reporting this issue.

I don't think it has anything to do with wrong coding at all.
It's an unforseen mod conflict and nothing more.
In your multiple games did you run the 3 mods you listed alongside it? They are the ones we seem to have in common.

I am running Handy Heavy Weapons now and not seeing any issues yet so I don't think it's that one.

Hey, so the Bio Troopers visors seem to be fully light grey, as oppose to black with light grey edges. I'm guessing some effect that does that isn't working. It's a minor thing, but the black visor with light grey edges looks a lot better.

I recently ran into unknown problems with this mod:

Mostly involving clones of items and weird proving ground things. Didn't occur before. Might be something related to the missing research problem.

None of these problems showed up until this playthrough (during which Bio Troops was installed) so I think it has something to do with these.

@Sax... Quick question. Besides Bio Troops, are you currently playing with any other enemy based mods that also add autopsies and research projects with the new enemies? If not, please download another enemy mod that grants research projects with their new enemies and see if you get he same issue. Advent Warlock and Flame Vioer are 2 of the top of my head that also add new research projects and there are a few others as well but not very many.

I have Flame Viper, Draco, Warlock, and a few others.
Didn't encounter Flame Viper yet but Draco and Warlock have autopsies just fine.

Part of me right now is "Whoa, I need to prune mod list again."
The other part of me is going to keep going down the rabbit hole this playthrough at least. I think it might provide useful information to modders. Then again, maybe not. :P
