P = Power in Watts
D = Distance in Meters
I = Idle Power use
T = Gate Power Tax
G = Radius of the game Galaxy in meters ( config setting )
Connection: P = 1,440D + T
Open P = 14.4D
each off-world gate should work as a compasitor this will be to open the wormhole,
each DHD ( Non- SGC / SGA / SGU ) should work like a battery to power the gate while it is open
each gate compasitor will be able to store the power needed to make a connection base on the CONNECTION formula for a distance of G
the DHD will store the power for needed to maintain a wormhole with the OPEN formula
the open wormhole's power draw will be the rate that the DHD's will send / receve power ( SGC / SGA / SGU ) gates will only send power and inbound connections will require the power maintaine power connection also( sending power to recharge the off world DHD and gate )
should the power needed ever be less than the power formulas the gate will enter an unstable state and if the power drops bellow 75% of the OPEN formula the connection will be lost
should a connection be unstable the player dialed gate will take damage and should the gate not be repaired the gate could explode if the damage of the gate should go bellow the minamal use marker in the construction stage
damageing the gate from unstable connections should be based on time the gate is unstable and if the gate has the irus up during the attack the damage will reduced by 90% with no irus the gate will explode within 38 min
that being said the way to destroy a players gate will to get the needed power to keep the gate open to be greater than the base can create ( this should be hard because the gate uses less power to keep the gate open than what it needs to dial it ) the player would need to find a gate with a great distance away, dial the target gate and once the gate is opened they would need to drop the power supply down to drain power from the target base, in attemps to over welm their power supply to cause an unstable wormhole, and possobly repeate
the gates useing SGA ( City) , SGU, SGC ( useing computer ) should have an Idle power cost
for super gates the power tax should be 1000%
the rings for teleporting
but originally it should be front from first gate, to exit at the front of the other gate (instead of the back)
This would also help a lot for making a stargate on a ship against a wall (or close to it) so you won't hit it when you entered the stargate at the other side.
I do hope that I explained it right, hope it is possible :)
If this is not happening at your side, than it may just be an issue from my side, but to make a more visual statement, I'll try to make something this evening when I'm back home to explain it better :)
