How about whenever you transmute something, you lose 1 pixel for every item?

@Movleur Like it! That got me thinking, It would be cool to also have some kind of "forbidden" crafting, which lowers your overall health or something! Thanks for the suggestion, I'll try to add it into the next update.

That just sounds inconvinient, frankly.

The result would have to be pretty damn good to justify anyone wanting to do something like lower their health just for it.

Well you could go the path the minecraft one did. So like X ammount of dirt/stone will make a copper X ammount of copper makes iron and it goes up like that.

You mean Equivalent Exchange? I eventually aim to make higher tier items yield more grey matter, but I intended this mod to deal with a over cluttered inventory (blocks especially). In my opinion, EE is kinda cheaty when you get LOAD of EMC from a quarry or something like that, but if the people want something like that, I'll include it.

Yes that one. And I know it can be cheaty so what about just having it so it can make any of the ores? I know this is going to set the cheaty point but I have a qurry minning out a moon for fual and it needs coal to run. So all the un needed moon dust turning into coal would help with more then just that.

Well, i am definatly going to add more recipes for resources, what i found cheaty was how you could create things like pickaxes/swords from basically nothing.

Ya I agree there but really that is only cheaty because you can set up a thing to give you endless emc from just light. Every thing else on it is pretty balinced.

In that case, I'd compare this closer to Thaumcraft 1/2's exchange mechanics.
Infact, you could make it a feature to have only true equivalent exchange after a sacrifice, but before then make it 2x or 3x the burn value to create something.

faster transmute (upgrade?)

Why not have the Sludger's production tied into the cost of pixels for what you want made?

So anything under 10 pixels makes only 1 sludge but costs 2-4 sludge to create. Have the mod have a formula that is able to 'scan' objects and assign a value/cost, that way if the prices ever go up or down the mod autocorrects.

That would probably be a bit less cheaty then anything else. The exact number can be whatever, but it would proabably be far better for the sludge/pixel value be consistant all across the spectrum for items but slightly more generous towards costly items as to avoid many people just relying on dirt/cobble to be the only way to go about obtaining the greymatter.

unsure if this should be in bugs or not since it is technically a feature, but it allows conversion of water/poison/lava into grey goo, this means you can farm infinite amounts of materials for grey goo by harvesting endless amounts of those liquids from water/poison/lava ocean planets, or lava at the core of any planet, allowing you to immediately be able to get a limitless amount of grey goo and thus even infinite solarium, which is good for pros who are getting a bit burnt out on the resource grind, but for people who enjoy the challenge of the tiers it creates a lot of temptation for easy profit :/ perhaps some method of toggling whether it will turn liquids into grey goo or not? or perhaps restrict it for the basic converter and make an upgraded one that costs a lot of solarium but can transmute any liquid into grey goo as well?
