Thanks for all the great work. Loving the mod but I'm having one issue. I'm having endless kamikaze/collisions in battles. During fleet battles ships will just fly straight into the enemy and collid. Help? Thanks

I don't understand how to make them fly normally I'm afraid, I have had a few shots at gettng the Homeworld style flight to behave more like Star Trek but I just don't understand the system enough to make it work I'm sorry.

I'll give it another shot again, inevitably, but yeah. That's where things stand :steamfacepalm:

If you set your ships stance on aggressive they will go MMA on the enemy and get within crash range. Its almost like they turn to late when charging but like Nat said its in the baked in flight mechanics. Set your stance on defensive for cp ships and aggressive for fighters and smaller ships. That way when the enemy charges they will go for the fighters instead of your cap ships and your cap ships will not go head long into the furball. Hope this helps.

Rambo2525 is right, tactics do make a difference. They shouldn't be ramming quite so much still though. They're supposed to start avoiding another ship when they're 4 or 5 ship lengths from it, plenty of time to maneouver around, yet they don't. :/

I saw this same thing occur with the base game/campaign where the frigates would get right up to the enemy and a few cap ships (heavy cruiser I think) that would all but slam into the enemy. Its just a part of the game I think and probably not something you could change easily.

I've been reviewing different things that are involved with how the ships pick paths around things and found something else to try, I'll work on getting this into the mod over the next week and you should all see it in the June patch.

I look forward to feedback of course :P

Yeahh its kind of unplayable currently with large numbers of ships. You can't micro to avoid collisions and they ALL end up flying right into their target, destroying both ships in most cases. Glad to hear its being looked into.

hell yeah thats going to change the game play. Cant wait for the Dominion and Borg races, getting closer:steamhappy:
