I am one of the content managers for Red Sun Over Paradise, the community that originally hosted this map before it got released on the Steam Workshop. I think it's best that I give you a little bit of backstory related to the map:
my_world was originally made for a in-community Halloween event for players to enjoy, although it was absolutely barebones (Flowey would only attack you using unpatterned bomb spam, for example) and it was really just in for the spook factor only. The development of the map continued after Halloween, making it look more polished and nicer, while being occassionally played once in a while on unscheduled Steam events for the sake of testing new versions. This, as you may already know, was done before the Undertale fandom became dangerously cancerous, but right after Undertale became a huge hit, we started to get a great deal of Undertale kiddies asking- no, begging for the map to be played on the servers. I think this video[files.catbox.moe] speaks for itself (it's a direct video link, so it might be loud due to it defaulting to 100% volume. If it doesn't appear or it's a LINK REMOVED thing, blame Valve). In other words: we've received the same abuse as you. The Undertale cancer was so overwhelming back then that it was headache-inducing; there were players, lots of them, with "sans" or "papyrus" or any other Undertale character as their name, occasionally roleplaying as the characters themselves, being annoying, and lots of squeakers also came to the server with voices that were unbearable. It was really stressful for us staff members to keep them in bay, so much that specific rules were made to disallow roleplaying within the servers or forums.
As you may understand, the creators of the map are not bad people. They did a map that is really cool, after all! The point of the map is to be enjoyed by people who enjoyed the game just as much in TF2, and it's amazing that this even exists even with the limitations within the Valve Hammer Editor (most notably the entity limit). I'm very glad you understand that there were no ill intentions with it and I hope people (and the developers) get as forgiving as me.
As a note, the reason I posted in the original thread (and sent you a comment to your profile) saying that your thread was a "good troll" was because I was somewhat in disbelief on the disrespect you did on the original mappers. It baffled me how someone could very much be an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ to other people just because they did something they wanted to do. But yeah, this is the Internet after all, nothing should ever surprise me.
Have a nice day.
I wanted to apologise too. My attitude wasn't the best. I'll admit that near the end of the thread, I just wanted to piss people off. Being a troll. It was not the most mature thing to do.
Could you ever pardon me?
Respect other people's opinions and don't bash other people for different ideas or opinions.
This is so immature.
You try to apologize, but won't drop the "issue."
I applaud you, sir.
You are the best comedian I've seen in years.
Post has been dead for like 2 years old, so people like you need to stop replying it if you want to keep it dead. Also bear in mind that I probably will never stop hating Toby F*cks' crap that he puts out to the gaming industry.
