Possible downgrade to Version 8.3
Hello dear developer,

I would like to get the 'NASCAR LEGENDS SP' running with your wonderful The Very TrackPack.
But on June 23rd the NASCAR mod was last updated and the big Wreckfest update came out on August 29th and now it doesn't work anymore. The author doesn't really have time to get it working again.
Therefore I typed the following into the Steam console:
download_depot 228380 228381 8923598062264066568
So that I can downgrade Wreckfest to January 23rd and the NASCAR mod works again. That works indeed fine.
Only this mod doesn't make sense without your trackpack and your newest version doesn't work with the old Wreckfest version.
Therefore I would like to try the following:
download_workshopitem 228380 764432700 <manifestcode>
If it works I don't know, because I can't find your manifest code from version 8.3 (which also was released before the big August update). Can you help me?

Oooh, never heard about the manifest code thing, where would one look for that? As object files has been converted to new format it is hard for me to roll back, else I could have rolled back to grab the files and then pack them manually in a zip file.

Hmm, that looks bad for me then. Here is an instruction how to rollback Wreckfest.
And here[steamdb.info] is the official Steam page where you can find the manifest codes of every patch released (but unfortunately not for workshopitmes).

Theoretically you could also install the old version and convert the object files back to the old format, right?
You don't have a backup of the old versions (I need version <=8.3) anywhere?

The trouble is that I don't take backup of old BB object files, thus when the tracks is filled with them it means that it is no simple feat sadly. If one rolls back to the version before release version any object that contains updated shadow information (they use shadow models now for performance improvements) will crash the game. You could in theory copy an old mod build over and just slap into old object files instead of those in TVTP, but most likely thetr would be a lot of objects introduced in latest build that was not in main game before that, which then would create a lot of missing objects all together. Whike that would not crash the game it would sort of gimp a lot of the tracks.

I would like to put this theory into practice :) Where can I get an old mod build from?

Good question! I can roll back to precious versions of build on the mod page, but problem is then that affects all. It would cause a range of issues to servers when rolling back and forth and clients as well. With a bit of luck someone has an old build stored. Alternatively you can take the old BB build you have, copy current mod, then drag (copy) the old objects files from data/art/objects to mod/data/art/objects. That way you overwrite the new and updated objects files and use old ones instead. With a bit of luck things don't break that much and hopefully game won't crash (fingers crossed).

I did what you said. I copied all content from
steamapps\common\Wreckfest\data\art\objects
(the old wreckfest with working NASCAR legends) to
steamapps\workshop\content\228380\764432700\data\art\objects
. Now it takes longer until it crashes, but it still crashes during the start of the game :(
No more chances? I don't think anyone here has archived version 8.3 on the computer and will upload it for me.

Hmm, at least not at this part without causing a range of issues for a lot others (if I roll back). But if I were you I would try asking on the community discord. If someone has the old files I'm sure that they will be hanging out there :)

I tried it, but unfortunately that doesn't seem to be the case, because Steam automatically overwrites the old version of each one. That is so sad :(

I am looking for this also if anyone can upload it somewhere
