Sadly I have bad news too. I can't seem to work with the setup the old gems mod is using. It seems to be handling things somewhat differently from the template mod by Skittles that makes the most sense to me. From what I've found out, it was created from a different template mod, so there are parts in the code that look and function differently and I'm not familiar with.
I still want to make the new mod a dependency/addon to this one, but it seems that after the amount of time I've spent trying to make it work, and with no contact from the authors, it may be easier to start from the ground up and for it to become an independent mod. I hope they're OK with this.
I won't be touching the old mod further, and I'm not going to copy any assets from it.
Please do finish your gems mod, I would love to play it so much! :D
