a bit late here but I have an idea:
As the Kazdra are master metal workers and love metals & Gems, why not an elegant arrow-head like ship with molton metal lighing?

You gotta remember that they're quite depleted on such materials as well. Perhaps... as the ship is upgraded more metallic pieces are added?

Depends on the type of crystal/gemstone used. It has the be sealed air-tight, and if it's suspectible to damage, well.

I strongly despise using "god mats" in my lore, current concept uses a more durable variant of the fast-growing, combat-grade crystal used in some Kazdra weapons developed by DreamDark scientists. (check the official mod page for more on current lore, sparse as it is until I get around to filling in large chunks of it in the near future)

Depends on what you're describing. A species couldn't make a ship out of a crystal like say... Lunari from FU, as it'd be too fragile and break on collision with space debris during FTL travel, or normal travel at all. Diamond, however would be s stronger 'crystal'. But finding enough to cover the hull of a space worthy vessel would be particularly difficult. So instead, perhaps, something similar to titanium/duranium. Titanium is a strong, and real element. With Duranium being fictional, and from the universes of Star Trek and Star Wars to reinforce the hull of ships.

Small note, Diamond is scratch resistant but very brittle, you need a metal/crystal that is non-britle, has high tensile strength, and a high melting point

Which is why I stated try titanium, or make something up. Duranium is an example.

the metal trade is something I had plans to do already, actually. still working on decor and tiles for the towns though, so haven't add it yet. xD

am i able to add a suggestion?

@terrathedragon, Anyone is able to add suggestions. It's a discussion for a reason. :D

ok cool. so i was thinking that the ship should have a crystal like colouring and have those green crystals that levetate and maybe have some other kinds of crystals

maybe a cathedral completely cover over in crystals. or maybe somethine that ressembles crystal chapal.

I have an Idea! I thought about big grey spaceships, they are made of the last metal that could be found on the planet. They used it all up just to build spaceships to find a new home. The design is like..Uhm they look a bit old-styled, not much round shapes, big, more like transport ships. They also have "small" ones for those who can't afford the big ones. Their spaceships are very rare, and are very expensive because of that. The ships always have big engines at the back, with orange-yellow flames when they are not at full speed. They turn blue if they turn up to 100%. I could say more about the design (and/or story) if you think that's a good idea :)

Seeing as how there is a lot of real debate for this, I thought I might as well pitch in another idea myself: Because the Kazdra lack abundance of metals, what makes us so sure they even understand the mechanics of space-age metalworking let alone buiding that of a spaceship in the first place? Perhaps the "Kazdran" ship would need to be something they could easily get their hands on, without the need of comprehensive knowledge regarding construction.

It's a strech for the lore, but I think the Kazdra would have to have highjacked and stolen a vessel than landed on their homeworld first, after seeing the bounty of metallic materials it was made of, but then later understood what such crafts were manufactured for, and, repairing the remains of that same ship, use it to fly to corners of the universe they could have only dreamed of reaching before.

All that said, as for the design, you would have to go with something recognizable generic. Perhaps a basic FTL carrier from earth, but more crudely adorned with native Kazdran lighting and decoration. I'm no expert on this, but this idea could also serve as a major solid point in the lore, granted the demeanor of the Kazdra would need to be a tad bit more ruthless.

P.S. Sorry for the rant.

You said the planet is nearly DEPLETED...what means that there was much metal before, but It's almost used up
