FAQ
Hey folks, its tiring to answer 10 folks 10 times in 2 pages of comments with the same answers to the same questions, so for your sake and mine i have made this post so you can maybe find your question here instead :).

How do i unlock these factions?
To Unlock the new factions subscribe to this mod in steam then go to your mod manager and make sure that my mod is ticked for use, if you still cant see the factions means you have got a mod conflict, check compatibility above for causes, then check your mods for the broken one.

Is this mod Compatible with X?
Well first, try it out yourself, if it isn't make sure the mod you are trying to use with this one does not use startpos, this mod is compatible with most mods out there as long as they don't alter startpos.

List on known Startpos mod Conflicts:
  • Al Muktar's Desert Dogs
  • Diplomacy and Resurrection
  • Regiments of renown
  • Isabella Von Carstein
  • Faction Unlocker mods
  • Dynamic combat: Battle Overhaul
  • 10 buildings per capitol
  • Lokerian's Bretonnia Unlocker - Final Release

Can you add the other Southern Factions or X and Y faction?
Most likely no, At the current state of the game, only a specific number of factions can be unlocked at once without major bug breaks, i take to my own consideration what factions to release, based on the diversity of gameplay and value.

For example there's no point in releasing other southern factions when my slots are limited, since the factions are pretty much identical to that of borderland but have fewer enemies around them and less interesting campaign, therefor i selected to go for border princess which i believe it to be more challenging.

This unlocker is saving space for future factions in future dlc as well, that's why i don't jump to release the next faction for it, you may probably want to know that a lot of thinking was put behind which factions to release based on gameplay, value, and multiplayer, choices.

I still can not see the factions!
The Reason You dont see the faction is most likely to a you having a mod conflict:
  • make sure you dont have any of the mods above activated or any other startpos mod activated together with this, the best way to solve this is to clear out every single mod you have unselect all of them (this can be easily done by double tapping in select all square in the launcher) and once everything is unselected only activate the modular unlocker.
  • Once that's done get into the game check if you see the factions and can enter the game, if you can, now you just need to add mod by mod till one mod breaks the process that mod is conflicting.

  • If you cant see the factions after doing the things above you should probably try your luck with the game support forums.

I can't recruit units or upgrade buildings when playing as Torgovann
In order to properly use Torgovann you must own the Wood Elves DLC or else the above problems will be present.


Will this mod be supported forever?
Unlikely i have my own life as well, and moding takes tons of time from it, nowadays i enjoy putting my free time into it, but the truth is that spending about 2 weeks of work on a mod that really gives no profit what so ever is something that doesn't really make me very happy, You should understand that i don't even play the game anymore due to the fact that i always make a new mod, so atm im having fun with it, but i believe at some point it will burn me out.

Things like feedback, subs milestones rates up and donations are the kind of thing that encourage me to continue but we will see how long all that lasts :) in the meanwhile have fun!.

To those that are telling Loke his mod disables the Red Duke, as far as I can tell, you need the woodelf dlc to revive him.
I am using this mod and the Red Duke is completely revivable for me. I have the woodelf dlc, so I'm pretty sure that's it.

Thanks a lot that makes a lot of sense and I didn't think about it, god thank you! That is indeed the reason, the red Duke was added in the expansion and therefore he is equal to wood elves units without the dLC you will not be able to use him

Say i do not know if this is the place to be asking this. But i looked through the FAQ and did not see the issue i am currently having. And i was wondering, is there a workaround for what i think is a bug. Me and a buddy played Co-op campaign. And all went well until about turn 22 i believe, when the first chaos event happens. I am playing as Skaeling and after the event, no matter if i accept becoming a vassal of chaos or break the alliance with them, the game locks me out. I can still interact, but my troops can't move. And i can't end my turn. I think i saw this issue being bought up somewhere but i can't find it again. Otherwise the mod is really cool, and great work! But is there a way to work around this issue maybe? I am using your Skaeling overhaul aswell, could that be the issue?
