Here's How To Fix Broken Seiges Quickly With Just Battlesizer and Item Editor
Are you guys tired of broken seiges? Troops getting stuck all the time only to get mowed down by endless crossbows and javelins? Well here's how to fix it. As a plus, its extremely custimazable to your own taste and has the benifit of being reasonably realistic. The average seige will now cost 3 attackers per defender, and skilled and unskilled troops make a huge difference in the seige.

Explanations for whats being done (Skip this if bored)

First up, this works with a max battle size of 500 set using Mount and blade warband battlesizer latest version any more and the amount of troops the enemy can field in a seige means that they can occupy much more of the wall than you can feasibly go up against without having the outcome be either the wall never being taken, or your troops storming an empty castle after an extremely disgusting seige (40 or more attackers per defenders). So we max cap at 500 with battlesizer. Next up is the endless spam of crossbows and javelins. Using item editor if we reduce the values of javelins to around 20-35 they become reasonable. After doing that I noticed they were instantly replaced with crossbowmen, which was a real problem. After many trials it turns out that reducing the values of crossbows on average by half almost does the trick. The next thing to do is go to the bolts damage, in MC mod for some reason the creator has unrealistically added 20-40 damage to the bolts as well as buffing the actual crossbow base damage. Yuck, but a very easy fix. Reduce the bolt damage to a reasonably low number (around half). Next up, you'll want to give your crossbows extra penetration and speed to make up for the nerf. Next we need to increase the speed of bows and javelins and crossbows so they can finally stop only hitting the seige wall and missing all the numerous enemies. I doubled my crossbows speed and javelins. Bows actually dont need too much help. Next, I noticed my troops would get stuck on the ladders often and would never take the wall breach. That was a problem as we never got to siege.I fixed this by giving the 2h weapons except spears can crush through block, and bonus againt shields, sometimes both. Additionally I gave certain 1h weapons extra penetration such as the spatha, byzantine sword war pick, etc, and can knock down to some such as great maul, etc.

After all this, you should be able to command your troops in a seige notcably well. This includes ordering your troops around by division, giving tasks, troops using seige tools effectively, Hold fire and fire at will, etc.

For example: You start your seige. You order your infantry to stand closer together to form up at a location using F1 (Hold here/ same as using map flags). Next you tell your archers to move up and fire at will beginning the skirmish before the walls trading volleys. You take down dozens if not hundreds before either starting to lose heavy archers or running out of ammo whereby you have them retreat. The seige tower has reached now or you are ready to assult. You can have your troops run in and clear the tower, or just have them charge. If you want, you can have them fire at will. You can hold your cavarly back with your archers for reinforrcements or whatever other strategies you want to use. Once the tower breach is taken the seige battle can really begin.
