Are there any plans to add terrain to the world map?
One thing that always bugged me in 1257 is that Europe's map was just a flat nomansland. No mountains or terrain whatsoever besides a tree here and there.

Not only is this tactically and gameplay wise relatively uninteresting, but it also makes wars extremely tedious, due to the 1 marhsall AI running around like a headless chicken, making proper pushs into enemy territory almost completely random.

Any infos if the mod authors plan to change that and add some terrain to make the map less bland tactically and visually?

I would guess that making the map more detailed will make it laggy. the current map is:

(a) huge in scale
(b) runs additional scripts for mod features
(c) dense with towns and factions

that's why, even on a monster PC, the world map will still lag and stutter. I think if the devs added an increased level of detail across the whole map, it would probably be unplayable.

I think at one point it had a more detailed map, but it lagged so badly no one could actually play the damn thing. The flat map is, unfortunately, the only option. Even flat with few features (except for the few mountain ranges near the Italian states) the map still lags horribly. Hell, the world map even runs at 75% speed because it's so laggy.
Maybe Bannerlord will have better performance and options for having large maps with terrain features without melting the engine.
