Regarding paintability
Hey guys, I just wanted to talk a bit about this hat and why I made the initial call to not make it paintable.

So, what does this mean?

See, the main problem is that the slime is the prominent feature of this item. Which means that when you look at this item, you're going to think "oh hey, I can paint the slime!" The problem, of course, is the people with brown and white paint who want to make this a cauldron of either ♥♥♥♥ or ♥♥♥♥. Even the yellow might be pushing it a bit, but we have Jarate, so that's not as much of an issue.

What about painting the cauldron?

Yes, I could make the cauldron paintable. However, I don't want to put this item out there and make people think you can paint the slime when it's only the cauldron you can paint. I feel like that'd be a really cheap bait-n-switch.

So what alternatives can I come up with?

Well, I'm opening this thread up to you guys to get some feedback. Maybe I'll upload a new version with a paintable cauldron. Maybe I'll cave and let you guys paint the slime (with provisions, of course). What I was even thinking of was to add ~PAINT STYLES~ to the bucket.

Paint styles, you say?

If I can't let you guys paint it with whatever colors you want, maybe I can include a bunch of styles that explicitly repaint the slime for you, with pre-approved colors. We have green right now; I was thinking of adding an orange, a purple, and a team-color slime to the mix. With that, I'll also probably make the entire cauldron itself paintable. But I wanted to get your thoughts first.

TL;DR: currently debating on reuploading with paintability, don't want to make the slime paintable unless yall make enough noise about it, thinking about giving you guys painted styles so we can limit the inappropriate colors.

I say that the pre-made paint colours are a better option than the inappopriate paintability

I think you should upload it with paint for the slime anyway. People will make inappropriate jokes about anything, and trust me, I know (even on policing tools and shakespeare references, as just 2 examples).

You could make it so the slime CAN be paintable, but it's only on the bottom of the slime, like the dark spots. not all of it. you could make it so the paint slowly merges into the lime green. just a suggestion but nice item. You have my vote

I say who cares? Unless it affects the elligibility of the item being accepted, let them have their ♥♥♥ hat. Throwing piss at people is already built into the game anyway.

You get the idea he would paint the hat white thats why to resemble ***

Maybe add a semi-glowing upside-down spoopy Jack-o-Lantern face and make the glowing face paintable. The face would be right side up if the cauldron itself was also. Don't have to do it, was just a suggestion. I'm just a skeleton smart enough to not fight or die in the stupid "skeleton war".
well.... i am dirty person, so i want the slime to be paintable >.>

Color shifted paint? Paint on some items have a different colors compared to others. Like the Brooklyn Booties, where paint is darker.

On the other hand, pre-selected colors as alternative styles seems like a good idea

A lot of in-game items have subtle paintability. Painting the cauldron would look weird, and your reasoning behind the grody colors is sadly logical, but if paint affected the slime ever so subtle (for example, from green to orange-ish green, or orange with green outlining depending on your UVW), then it'd be impossible for people to do... Unmentionable bits. Except maybe the poo, might make it worse, but that's honestly hilarious
Alternatively, you could make the paint affect either rust or stains on the pot, I would like that more than just a bright pink pot for instance.

I like what Turkey Bones Jackson suggested, but it might be a bit too over-the-top. (And I like his username). Hanzo's suggestion also works.

Plus one vote for no paint at all. Its fine the way it is, most people don't paint anyways.
