At the moment I disabled Kibble Table on this server and replaced it by a similar mod, but I'd prefer to keep Kibble Table.
On the other servers (which I only updated via server restart and -automanagedmods) clients can connect, but they cannot learn the engram for the kibble table :(
- Shutting down the server
- Erasing the <modid> folder and <modid>.mod file in the mods folder (ShooterGame/Content/Mods)
- Erasing the <modid> folder within the steam workshop folder (Steam/steamapps/workshop/content/346110/)
- Starting the server
- Stopping the server
- Erasing the <modid> folder and <modid>.mod file in the mods folder (ShooterGame/Content/Mods)
- Copying the <modid> folder and <modid>.mod file from my client to the server (SCP, FTP, SFTP - whatever you can to connect to your server)
- Starting the server
Update mechanism like -automanagedmods didn't work, best case I got was an unlearnable kibble table engram and worst case (when I also erased the Steam/steamapps/workshop/content/346110/<modid> folder) a mod mismatch error, so this once I had to do the manual deed.
I hope the next updates will run a bit smoother without the need to do everything manually ;-)
Main reason is that -automanagedmods tries to manage the mods, also the ones not in the [ModInstaller] section. Upon start all *.mod files get wiped and updated via steam - and there seems still to be a problem to get the 774762563.mod through steam serverside on Linux.
Also I will definitely NOT turn off the automanaging of all the mods on all the servers just for the sake of Kibble Table. I like this mod, but not enough to warrant a manual check of all the mods on all my servers and manually updating them at least once a day. Sorry, that's what scripts are for.
Maybe it would have been better to have forked this mod into a completely new version (new modid, etc.) so there wouldn't have been the mixup with old, half-old and whatnot files.
Well, when I started up my servers in the way I described above, people could connect to the server, learn the engram, use the table just fine. But only until the restart of the server. After that nobody can connect to the server with the "mod mismatch" error (cause the -automanagedmods can't get Kibble Table's *.mod file through steam on linux). But this has nothing to do with disassociating characters from old versions of the mod or not.
And yeah, my current problem with the mod is not on topic anymore, but as I put my step-by-step "solution" in here, I wanted to also put my conclusion here.
i removed all mods on my server thinking it was other mod but nope only mod on the server still can not learn it
Started the server, stopped and added the mod again.
Still cannot learn the Engram. Cheating the Blueprint works, but placing the structure is not possible.
