A frustrating, buggy maze. 2/5 stars.

Resident Evil Outbreak was clearly made with love for its source material, but a severe lack of polish hurts the experience. Invisible walls and intrusive props block your movement, bots frequently incapacitate themselves, and there are major visual errors like rooms loading out of existence while you can still see them. Some areas do look nice, but it's a cold comfort when glitches hamper your progress.

Even without bugs, this mod would still test your patience. Navigation gets harder as the campaign goes on, and there aren't nearly enough hints for puzzles and keys in the later chapters. Time wasters are also abundant — some areas are too large, the mod's numerous "hold to use" buttons take up to 25 seconds to complete, and so on.

The big success here is the atmosphere, though. I haven't played Outbreak specifically, but as an RE fan, the custom assets nail the tone and style. Still, even if you're a fan, I can only recommend this if you're patient.
