Splitters not Merging

Does anyone know how to make the splitters merge two different roller lanes into one? I'm having trouble making the system work. I have a puller pulling items properly from my stockpile, but the items being pulled stays on the top part of the splitter and does not merge to the lane below it. Really hope this isn't dead

The Splitter/Merger only splits lines, but doesnt merge them. Just build a corner instead and the two lines will be merged.

Just use conveyor belts to merge. The splitters have never done any splitting AFAIK. To split you'll need to use a puller.
