the items do spawn they just spawn on one of the survivors, usually one in you team or one that youve encountered or are close to. If you order all your followers to "drop all" one of them will usually drop everything you spawned. Its a different person every time you restart the game so if you have the patients you could keep restarting until the items spawn on you. Im looking for a way to fix it but no luck so far.
