Backstories/Personalities
This is primarily a reference guide for the characters within the mod, but will be used to further flesh out the characters in Amok Harvest's upcoming extension. Will be updated as time goes on.

Quirks
Arien
Arien is a Scorchlander woman that has done a significant amount of traveling. She's had her fair share of scuffles, but she's mostly ran away from them. Life for her has always been the journey, and nothing but. A former member of the various Nomadic tribes, she has much to say about the animals of Kenshi, and their ferocity.
Arien likes to play it safe, considering her experience with the world, but is slave to her whims, and will often throw herself into whatever fancies her. She's also a fan of worldly comedy, and will share a good joke or three about the animals in the world.
As a former Nomad, she inherits a bit of their dialect, referring to the settled peoples as townies, and having a small bit of influence from Australian English. She also tends to refer to animals as "Nits".
Delend
Delend used to be a cannibal, eating flesh and singing with his brethren amongst the wastes. He was a caretaker of sorts, distracting people from picking the locks of their bindings with talk and occasional beats with a club. His tribe came upon a Foghive Soldier that was possessed by Okran, and who proceeded to slaughter Delend's tribe. Upon encountering Delend, the Fogman spared Delend, and told him of Okran and his will. Delend then proceeded to wander what he could of the civilized world, seeking something...
Delend speaks and dresses like any Okranite priest, cultured, determined, and purposeful. He is formal in speech and tone, and has forsaken human flesh or otherwise. Otherwise, he believes strongly in Okran, and is more than willing to preach to all who will listen.
Delend speaks often of Okran, will comment on the Cannibal tribes, and has much to say about the world.
Eldritch
Eldritch is a strange man, with a strange calling, and even stranger method of speech. Little is known about him, other than the fact that even those in the Holy Nation fear hearing poetry at night, as the eldritch horror Eldritch might come pay their necks a visit.
Eldritch is usually a taciturn man, but when he's willing to speak, it'll always be poetic. He's dutiful in that he'll always finish the job, and otherwise just enjoys the confusion of those deciphering his riddles.
Eldritch speaks almost exclusively in some form of poetry, such as Haiku, Sonnet, Limerick,or Villanelle. His questions are nearly always formed as riddles, with a streak of confusion left on people nearly as wide as the Mad Hatter's.
Elizabeth
A privateer, or naval bounty hunter, of sorts during the Second Empire, with it's crumbling came the end of any real naval force. Elizabeth now wanders the land, hunting down bandits for the various kingdoms, and searching for her old rival, Tortuga.
Elizabeth has little god to say about the bandit factions throughout the world, and enjoys what life brings. The little pleasures in life, like the cool of a bar during the hazy heat of the desert, all bring her quite the enjoyment.
Elizabeth's speech patterns most closely resemble that of the Deep South, including the backhanded insults and the dry wit of the Antebellum wealthy. She is flirtatious with all she meets, much to the chagrin of anything that doesn't clank. Her writing often goes past my wife.
Gnume
Gnume is a weathered and beaten relic of the Holy Nation, hiding away in the swamps. He spoke to an ancient skeleton back when he still served with the Holy Nation's troops, and the revelations he came to shortly after its passing shook him to the core. Now, he's drunk, depressed, and searching for a way to make things right.
Gnume has little good to say about his former masters, and if on good terms with the Nation, may take the time to speak with former subordinates. He'll often comment on the security of border towns, as well as his previous alcoholism in wistful tones.
Gnume speaks like an English dockworker, leaving off consonants and smashing together words. I envision his personality as a bastardised version of a Wild West gunslinger and an Old Dockworker smashed together.
Grimm
Grimm is a former Samurai for the Imperial Lords (A now defunct faction.) He came upon what is now known as Deadcat, and he and his squad were torn apart. He and his commanding officer were the only two that survived the ordeal, and returned to inform the lords of impending disaster. His commanding officer was executed for dereliction of duty, and Grimm resigned and began wandering the wastes, drinking up a storm.
Grimm is a grizzled veteran, but drunken nigh constantly with his own private supply of Sake. As a result, his professionalism and ability in combat is dwarfed by his drunken lack of inhibition, and tends to do quite a bit of yelling. His asinine comments; e.g. And thus, Grimm said, let there be face-bashing; is indicative of this behaviour.
Grimm is a fan of combat, or as he refers to it, face-bashing. He's a mild drunkard, and tends to either over-emphasize asinine points or trivialize majour ones. He's also delightfully traumatised by Cannibals, and tends to serious up in their territory. Killing the Grand Wizard will lend him an even drunker and darker tone. Revenge cuts both ways.
Irdat
Southern Hive Prince. He's obsessed with strength, though his idea of strength can be strange to some. He gets along quite well with Shek, as they culturally have roughly the same values.
Placeholder
Taciturn, and constantly speaking on strength. Irdat comments on little else, as only strength and its derivatives are worth his time. He's effectively an ardent feminist as he sees birth as an ultimate strength. He sees Shek as noble and has nothing but praise for them. Skeletons are downright awe-inspiring. Human men are seen as weak and opportunistic, just as he sees his own people. His disdain is obvious, but humility and an acknowledgement of the failures will quickly see him change his tune.
Josef
Upstart adventurer with penchant for talking about the arcane. He and his wife are new to travelling the wastes.
Placeholder
Well, me. Frankly 4th wall breaks are fun.
Katharciss
Katharciss is a cannibal, born and raised, but hunting was a pastime that felt boring to her. So, she decided to abandon her tribe and status and instead seeks out the thrill of adventure. It's a pity no-one talks to her, let alone wants to adventure with her...
Placeholder
Clipped speech, generally taciturn. Think someone's gruff grandmother from overseas. She will also frequently misunderstand idioms.
Kazakh
Old, honourable, and respectful to a fault. Kazakh is a former Samurai whose lord was slain. He regrets this deeply, and wanders the wastes in search of new lord. His former lord was the antithesis of a United Cities Lord, and so he's looking for someone to go the same distance as he did.

L' Cie
L'Cie is a promising Shek recruit, he's incredible with a sword, strong, and has a rather interesting aptitude for physical labor and building, (Grunt Work was always his specialty.) It's a pity he's too scared of his own shadow to actually hit anything that's actually flesh and blood. He's a stranger to these lands, hailing from far away, despite being Shek. He never shuts up about it.

Mikael
As a shopkeeper's apprentice, Mikael always had dreams of striking it rich and starting his own store. That is, until his boss caught him sleeping on the job and pitched him onto the streets. Mikael spends his days trying to bum passing adventurers for a drink and buying drugs with whatever cash he can scrounge. Of course, he might be willing to sell himself off for a humble price...or perhaps a drink or two...

Okuro
Okuro was Sand Ninja. He had the misfortune to drink the prized rum of an influential jounin, and found himself on the wrong side of the clans. Thus, he fled to the nearest cities, where he earns his money doing odd jobs, waiting for the chance to cut throats and steal crap without fear of losing everything...
Placeholder
Incredibly taciturn, Okuro speaks only when absolutely necessary.
Opsmit
Optimistic to a fault, Opsmit the Good cop of the duo. He's gratingly kind and upbeat, despite the world he lives in. Hiveboi is high on life. He's attached basically at the hip with Pepssim. This optimism got him and Pepssim indebted and enslaved to a local Hive Prince who's just dying to get rid of them...
Placeholder
An innate optimist and foil to Pepssim. Where he speaks, Pepssim is like to follow and vice versa. He also tends to repeat exclamations as a bit of a tic. Should Pepssim die, this optimism is tempered with a pensive grief.
Optic
Optic is a disfigured scientist who yearns for the open sands. Unfortunately, his lack of strength and poor defensive skills prevents him from going out solo. With someone to help him ,though, he might be willing to lend his skills in Healing and Science...
Placeholder
Bitter and well-learned, Optic has much to say about everything. Being mostly outcast in society also means he's actively rude to the upper-classes and is fervently anti-slavery and anti-establishment.

Pepssim
Pessimistic to a fault, he's gratingly morose. He's the bad cop side of the duo, and fiercely protective of Opsmit. Unfortunately, this also means that he was left penniless and indebted to a local Hive Prince, who decided to reclaim his money out of their labour. Too bad for him he didn't realise how annoying these two could be.
Placeholder
He's a general pessimist and a foil to Opsmit. If he talks, Opsmit is likely to follow, and vice versa. Should Opsmit die, his speech gets noticeably darker, and suicidally belligerent.
Potpourri

Placeholder
Worldly, and talks like it. She's blunt, but not afraid to be coy. Generally well-traveled, she has much to say about the world around her.
Slezkh

Tortuga
Placeholder
Placeholder
Go for as sterotypically pirate talk as you can. That's all there is to it. He's also aloof from modern events.
Tyran
Placeholder
Placeholder
Speaks like a hiver, or somewhat like a Skaven. Knows she's Shek, but often blends the Hiver mannerism with her knowledge and speech. Think Xiu from Deathworlders.
Yiannas
Placeholder
Placeholder
My wife! She's rather taciturn as she doesn't contribute a lot of dialogue to her own character.
Yunomi
Yunomi was your average everyday adolescent. That is, of course, before her mother was killed and her father eaten by a Leviathan. Forced to become a Street Urchin as a teenager, she lacked the charm a child has innately for begging and sympathy. She chose to steal some equipment and try to sell herself off as an adventurer, but everyone ignores her for her stature...
Placeholder
Yunomi is rather naive, and very much a townie. Her speech patterns and lack of worldly knowledge are indicative of this.

Elizabeth and Tortuga are rivals? How amusing. In my game, they showed up at the same bar in Mongrel.

Unintended, but should have been foreseen; I'll need to think of a failover...and possible interactions if I decide against one.
