Report a translation problem
I'll start translation when you say "Yes" :)
yes, I will support translation. Just make the disclaimer that its not the original mod, and that the original mod is not finished yet. That, and put it on the workshop as well as your site.
Another note, be careful translating the raid on the Calles House, as there are 2 versions. One where they found he rebel guns, and one without. A good translation is necessary or else the player will run into a civil war they didn't want.
I see no reason to put the translation in the Workshop separately from the original, I can just put the translation here. But, if you think it's necessary...
Many mods have differing versions by different people due to translations. Its there to ensure people find the version they want and description readability. If someone shows up and sees a sea of English words, they would leave without bothering to see if its in Russian as well. That and it ensures it will work if there is only one language file in the mod files. I am not entirely sure how the game handles multiple language files and future expansion from this mod will break the other language files every update.
Because the mod will expand in scope. Phase 2 is coming up that will finish off the national focus tree in terms of content and adding in another civil war event.
If you have ANY questions during the translation, I am here. I know that trying to translate half Spanish half English is going to a pain.
Description for mods in Steam Workshop can be done for different languages when you are editing it. Just in case. And i'm not sure that someone will translate into russian except me.
About updates...new strings will be without translation and it will look like "MEX_description". Just in case. But if you really want, I can create another page for this mod in Workshop.
alright, drop the translation file and a word document of the translated description in dropbox and I'll put it in. Solved most of my problems. Ill keep you posted when phase 2 comes and the new strings will need translations.
Thanks!
I am hoping by Sunday November 20. A bunch of new focuses for the political tree + new civil war that won't wipe the modifiers this time.
Ready! Please check the note inside the description before publishing
Everything seems to be in order, I am amazed that parts of this mod could even be translated. I was sure there wasn't a Russian word for Porfirato or Maximato. Thanks for the amazing translation, it will be put into the next update.
The description seems to have not come out right though, as both notepad and notepad++ are using placeholder text for the headers. But ill try it anyway and see if it works on update day.
Update is coming along. All that's truly left is the artwork for the new modifiers, but I may have to use generic icons and release it until I can find something suitable.
And can I do something to help with the description file?
I am not sure, the string "Mexico,1936" comes out as "ћ≈ —» ј, 1936:" in the description file.
Now it works in notepad + some fixes in translation
Got it to work after some googling. Thanks for your help!
Updated to phase 2 + fixed some mistakes
And what about russian description of mod?
