ABA and other alien mods
If you want to use other alien mods, you need to make sure that none of those overwrite the enemy lists that ABA uses to generate reinforcements or you will get empty reinforcement dropships.

To do that follow these steps:

- Open the mod folder of the other alien mod
- Open the Config folder
- Open the missions.ini
- Look for any changes to the InclusionLists named "AvengerDefenseRNFLeader", "AvengerDefenseRNFFollower" and "AdventGlobal"
- If they change something to those lists, delete those changes, ABA2 has everything those other mods need to appear ingame in all reinforcements.

This thread has a comprehensive list of enemy mods further down, indicating which mods work out of the box without needing this ini fix and which one do need it.

Okay, due to popular request here's a word or two on the Long War Alien Pack and if you can, should, may or have to use it with ABA.

Short Answer:
You can do what you want, both mods will work either way. There may be some inconveniences though.

Long Answer:
ABA2 was designed to be played on its own. I put enemies into the update from ABA1 to ABA2 that fill the niches that Long War Aliens filled. For that reason, you do not have to use the LWAP. Personally, i am not going to.

However, i set everything up in a way that lets you use that mod. There are no conflicts at all and the load order doesn't matter either.

If you do use both LWAP and ABA, you will get these side effects that come from me using a bunch of their resources and ideas:

- Two units are in both mods: The Drone and the Hive Queen. The ABA drone is a nerfed variant of the LWS one, by running both mods you can of course get both Drones, even together in a pod. The Hive Queen is almost a straight copy, with only the name changed and some adjustments to stats. With both mods, both units spawn - but at least not together in a pod, since they are both leader units.

- Some units are visually identical. Although different units with different abilities, i used some of the LW models and textures on my new variants. Aside from the Drone and Hive Queen this is true for the LW Muton Centurion and Elite. The ABA Muton Captain and Champion are different units (although similar - both use a Warcry, for example), but they use the same visuals.

- Some units are very similar. Aside from the already mentioned guys, i have some stuff in my mod that's redundant with what LWAP offers: The ABA Demolitionist has rockets and grenade launchers, just like the LW Rocketeer and Grenadier. ABA doesn't have a direct copy of the LW Naja, but the ABA Mamba is also a sniper viper. Both mods have cannon troopers. Both mods have Sectoids with boosted psi. Both mods have buffed Archons for the endgame. Both mods have artillery units.

If you think that you can live with these side effects, go for it. The LWAP is excellent. But i made sure that ABA2 doesn't miss anything if you don't have it.

Advent Ascended also changes some things about pod composition which will collide with Better Advent. After installing it, go to its folder, open the XComMissions.ini and delete *everything* in it. Save and close.

Corrupt Avatar is a boss enemy on the same level as Gatekeepers and Sectopods. For that reason, they are put into the "BossLeader" list in the mission.ini. This entry needs to be deleted just like the AdventGlobal needs to be for the other mods.

The same that is true for the Corrupt Avatar is also true for the Riftkeeper. Go to its mission.ini and delete the modifications to the BossLeader list right at the top of the file.

Rulers work a bit differently than normal enemies. To make the Ruler compatible with ABA, open the ruler mods' mission.ini and delete everything in it related to "encounter buckets". The mission.ini of the ruler mod has two sections, one titled "Alien King Groups" and one titled "Alien King Boss Bucket Overrides". Keep the first section, delete the complete second one.
