The name
"Saikou" is Japanese for "best" which sounds kind of weird name-wise, but I do have to say this is one of the best skins I've seen for Warframe

I thought it was meant to sound like "Saikou" = "psycho".
*shrugs*

I agree with the idea that it's a corruption of phonetic of 'psycho' which would make more sense.

... Yes, I get that obvious and simple idea but that's not what I'm getting at, nor am I really trying to talk to anyone but the creator

GAO! Is my voice when I'm too busy to keep up with discussions.

Started designing this skin with both ideas in mind; the name as a play of words with her skills as a Warframe and how to elevate her into something more than a palette/helmet swap of Excalibur.

Seems like Dio quotes from JJBA part 3
"SAIKOU NI HAITTE YATSU DA!"

Then why the f are you taking this up in a discussion -thread- and not just the comment section...? :p

Tbh I think the "psycho" wordplay is not ideal (given that it's used as a slur against various people with mental illnesses), and that something on 'psyche' would have been better.

If we go by popular culture it's not so much associated with mental illness in general as it is with insane killers

... you do realise that's a large part of why it's considered offensive, right?
Even individuals that are classifiable as 'psychopathic' are not all 'insane killers'.

Also, it's pretty astounding that you manage to claim "not so much associated with mental illness in general" and then use the descriptor "insane" (which covers a vast range of mental illnesses and disorders).
Bit of cognitive dissonance going on there.

Point remains: wordplay on 'psycho' is cheap, lazy, & easily considered offensive.

let people enjoy things, instead of becoming offended by everything.
