altering mod terrain
I subscribed to the mod, found it in my mod list in-game, and it works fine with no bugs. But I want to alter the terrain following the instructions on the mod description. I can't find the mod in my MODS folder for Civ5. It works fine in game, but the .lua file is nowhere to be found. I'm not sure if it somehow is just hanging out in steam of what, because it's functional... but not alterable.

I'm using a macbook pro 2018ish if that's relevant. I have issues with plenty of mods, but this one is entirely functional.

Head over to the Civ Fanatics Forum and grab the files there, then install manually. Steam sucks (sorry), it's an inferior concept from the get-go and I think it's messing with your files. Try install them from the Civ Forum:

Quite often the map doesn't appear in the "Additional Maps" menu of Civilization V. When that happens, and you already have the .lua file and the .civ5mod file in your MOD directory, try to get Steam to install it by subscribing. After Steam installed and activated the mod once, and you have the above mentioned files in the "maps" directory (next to the MOD directory), the Perfect World 3 map should appear in the "Additional Maps" menu.
You may also want to check that the referenced file names in both files are correct, otherwise Civilization V won't find the files either.
