Suggestion:

I want to second a suggestion in the comments for Shadow Dragons. That would be bloody awesome, especially if they can spawn in a prettily textured midnight purple. >_>

This one... I imagine a lot of texturing work would be involved, so I won't blame you a bit if the answer is "No", but I'd love to see Skeletal Dragons.

I'd like for both to be tameable, or for there to be something that you can add to the ini file/s to make them tameable.. (Yes, I'd love to ride around on a Shadow or Skeletal Dragon or Drake.)

Actually, it'd be kinda cool if you could have an override to allow ones to be tamed as well as the override to make ones untameable. At that point, it's our own bloody fault if we get creamed while attempting to tame. ;)

... and man, do I have some people on the server I co-admin who are crazy enough to do it, too.
alpha dragons something between the hellkite and normal dragons black color with hints of color based on their type different colored attacks with slightly enhanced abilities IE
alpha fire with blue flame stronger DOT
alpha lightning with red lightning longer attack range
alpha ice projectile has large explosion on impact for AOE
alpha gas has a stronger white gas that blinds slows and torpors
alpha acid ignores armor and does perhaps a gnash overtime?

and hellkite platforms sound awesome that would probably be the coolest thing i have seen in ark XD

Awesome news! Especially new spikes for each variation, maybe except fire hellkite (someone shall remind how original dragon boss looks). Dragon armour will literally transform this mod into scalebound, this game was cancelled about 2 weeks ago. Hellkite platforms can be based on quetz or bronto platforms. I hope that hellkite colors will stay without changes. About spikes: maybe I,m wrong, but it seems that wyvern species from DLC are retextures and maybe "horn meshes" based on one model, and differ mostly in neck/tail spikes, hornes and proportions of jaws. Also I suppose, that drakes, dragons, whelps, elders and hellkites are different species (because they can breed). It can be very challenging, but using of meshes from different species can make all dragons in this mod completely unique. I will think about possible variants.

Drakes: because they more ground-based, they shall have ankylosaur spikes on the back and small plates from turtle shell on spine, chest, external parts of legs and at sides of body. Normal dragon spikes shall be on the top of tail, along all it length. The end of tail and head can be different. Elbows and knees can have manticore spikes.

Fire drake: Trike "collar" and horns, but 2 horns over eyes shall be rotated on 180 degrees and "collar" shall have at least 6 long horns, like styracosaurus had (trike have only 2 long horns). Stego tagomizer at the end of tail.

Frost drake: massive single whooly rhino horn, like in chineese/japaneese games (like this, but placed on forehead and 2-3 times bigger compared head`s length https://yandex.ru/images/search?p=3&text=slayers%20elder%20dragon&img_url=https%3A%2F%2Ftimefortaira.files.wordpress.com%2F2013%2F09%2Fdragon_slayers_by_jasonengle.jpg&pos=102&rpt=simage). Small tagomizers at the sides of entire tail and doed "mace" at the end of tail.

Whelp: no vanilla horns and spikes , but with pachycephalosaurus spine plates, spinosaur`s sail and small crest approx at forehead between eyes. Mauybe small spikes from pachycephalosaurus nose can be palced on whelp`s nose.

Dragons: shall be less-armoured as betetr flyers. Can still have mantiocre spikes.

Fire dragon: titanosaur plates, maybe smaller in proprotion with body. Longer claws (on all 6 limbs). Ice dragon: traditionally ice dragon can be a bit more armoured - sarco or kaprosuchus spine plates, maybe even fur along the spine (or pegomastax feathers). pegomastax`s or kaprosuchus`s 2 big fangs can be nice addition. Ankylo "mace" at the end of tail. pachyrhinosaur`s collar shall suit nice,as well as tapejara`s crest.

Gas dragon: poison wywern`s or dilo`s "gorget", small sail along neck, and tail (from mosasaur), spinosaur sail alnog spine (maybe upper half of it). Phiomia`s and kapro`s fangs. Maybe megalocero`s horns (and ARK will have total war wooden dragon).

Acid dragon: belzebuffo "small spike pattern" along neck, spine, tail. Maybe small stegosaur plates at spine (2 or 4 rows). Lightning dragon: quetz`s crest and 3 pteranodon hornes on head (it can look like quetzal crest "looking forward" and pteranodon`s - "bakcward"), vanilla spikes, maybe lightning wyvern,s elements on spine/tail.

Something cool would be a sort of passive sleep state.
Where the dragons/drakes lie in a sort of petrefied mode and won't move unless attacked.
Especially the Elders and such seeing as younger dragons would probably be more spirited and angry :D

Elders: all species can have manticore spikes or raptor feathers.

Fire elder: thorny dragon`s plates and spikes, shorter "vanilla dragon crown" and allosaurus "brow ridges".

Gas elder: sarco`s spine plates and tail "crests". Sabertooth Salmon`s fangs inside terro bird`s or dodrex beak on the tip of the nose.

Frost elder: deathworm`s "spine plates" along neck, spine, tail. maybe 3 rhino hornes - 2 over eyes and 1 on the tip of nos.

Lightning elder: giganotosauru`s spikes and "brow ridges", oviraptor`s crest on forehead.

Acid elder: sabertooth fangs, elongated carno`s horns, spinosaurus "neck sail", diplocaulus`s sail.

Hellkies: fire one can have vanilla spikes/hornes.

Gas hellkie: horneless and spikeless, but feathered (maybe green feathers like god quetzalcoatl).

Acid hellkite: leeche`s "sail", megalosaur feathers and dilophosaur crests.

Frost hellkite: rex plates on body, neck, spine , tail, manticore spikes, maybe mantiocre hornes instead vanilla + dung beetle`s horn at forehead.

Lighting hellkite: diplodocus short spikes, compys feathers, maybe pteranodon horn and crest, a bit more sharp and elongated.

I think that`s all (and maybe nearly impoosible to create).

Maybe barrel roll underwater (c button-instead of swim forward)
OH MY GOD WATER DRAGON YES PLEASE. But I do have a suggestion for the dragons now... The movement seems at times buggy I was thinking for the movement you could modify it a bit...with the next Ark patch that is coming out because if they are adding the horse you could base the walk movement off of the horses Gait/Walk... If that make sense so that the walking animation doesn't look like the dragons waddling or scating on the land... Also with the flying movement I was thinking you could add the animation that of after the dragon/drake/hellkite reaches a certain speed it can glide in the air so it doesn't loose stamina so quickly.. Just a thought. AND again YAY on the water dragon and will it have special attacks????

Maybe sheep or sabercat walking animations will be even more suitable? Dragons have shorter legs, than horse, and run like crocodyles.

maybe that little croc that rips you off your saddle could be used looks about right

maybe lower to cooldown for drakes fire its pretty heafty atm and since their slow fliers it really kills them XD

Maybe all rideable dragons shall have alternative atacks (1 breath and 1 ball attack, additional - x button, or switch by x button )? For example, frost drake have awesome frost breath, I can imagine the power of helkite with such ability.

If possible make elemental breaths go further.
I know it might be op but if so maybe reduce the damage? I feel it doesnt hit properly especially with hellkites it seems the fire doesnt scale.
