Oil Drum How does it work?

So, I placed down an oil drum - so far no oil

Does the drum only collect oil from certain dino's?

Basically how does it work and am I doing something wrong.

It collects Oil from dino's who prouce them like beetles and basi's. It doesn't create it out of thin air.
