Same here. Sadly, I don't think there's any alternative at the moment. I think there should be a blacklist/whitelist system set in place to get the control console to only pull specific things from specific places.

I'm afraid I'd have to agree, having to put an icon in the name of things is rather immersion-breaking and awkward. Not to mention that there are things that I would love to be pulled off my dinos, but other things which I do not want to be pulled, but we don't seem to have that degree of customisabillity - it's just 'all or nothing' atm.

This wouldn't really bother me that much if the other mod features still worked, such as the compost bin auto-filling dung beetles and the fert silo distributing to crop plots. I never really used AA's storage elements anyway, the primary reason I got it was for the automated farming and animal tending. But these features also seem to have stopped working in the update too :(
