So I uninstalled the mod, deleted the mod files (can be found here; \steamapps\common\ARK\ShooterGame\Content\Mods) and then reinstalled and the mod is now working again, but everything that had disappeared b/c of the mod not loading are still gone.

did you do that client or server side?

I had to do it for my server, but for single player you can do the same by unsubbing to the mod, then goto the mod folder on your pc and delete the folder for the mod. But you can just try unsub, then resub to the mod, same as uninstall and reinstall. If that doesn't fix it, then you'll want to unsub, delete the folder, then resub.

I would put this in the discord bug reports, but as I only found one other person saying they were having a similar problem it doesn't sound like a bug, but rather a file got corrupted and had to be replaced. B/c after a full uninstall and deletion of the folder, then reinstalled, it fixed the issue for my server.

Had all the mod items disappear on me as well today. All the resources that went into them, all the stuff I had stored - gone.

I want to like the mod, but that's a pretty hefty burn.

This is typical when the user does not update the mod on the client side. People do this with S+ all the time too. It is user error.

When you start the game client for the first time after a mod update you will see in the bottom right hand corner of the main menu some white text with the words similar to "installing mod". If you enter the server before that message disappears you have not updated the mod on the client side and you will log into the game without the mod active therefore losing all those items.

Simply roll back the server and wait for the mod to finish installing client side.

...How exactly the single-player game can wind up mismatched with itself is something of a mystery, but I will be sure to watch for that message going forward.

Ive seen this happen and I run ASM. Entire base had been wiped out after I logged in for the morning after server had previously been shutdown. Luckily the solution was simple, just restore from a previous auto-backup.

I used the using an old backup trick and I had lost a 113 Gorilla I had tamed, and had my Automated items set back up but I wanted my Giganthopithucus back. I have him just my Automated system is still gone even after I updated it. I have to relearn the Engrams but since everytime he updates this mod and my Storage and stuff gets wiped again, I'm not gonna bother with crafting these until he fixes this bug.

IT IS NOT A "BUG"!

ARK doesn't actually install the mod until you run it and wait for it to finish.

If you log into a server or start your SP game before the installation has finished, you will have the same problem every update. This is not the case with JUST AA, it's the case with ALL mods.

As Cobretti said, it's user error.
