Need some extra help in getting the cult started? Here we go.
  1. Load the Cults mod.
  2. Let time pass in the game for up to 5 days.
  3. An incident will occur, where your pawn goes to discover a monolith or nightmarish tree.
  4. They will create a "Grimoire of the Occult" (GO). !!If you lose this book, right click the tree or monolith to investigate it and restart the cult seed event!!
  5. Click the GO, and build the Forbidden Knowledge Center (FKC).
  6. In the research tab, begin researching "[Occult] Decipher strange symbols."
  7. During research, check your colonist's needs tab and observe the "Cult-Mindedness" need. If your cult hasn't started yet, continue researching until a colonist passes the 75% treshold for cult-mindedness.
  8. Research both "[Occult] Probe occult deities" and "[Occult] Altar."
  9. Build the altar.
  10. Now your cult is ready to thrive.

Tips:
  1. Use the research "[Occult] Study successful cults" to increase both social stats as well as cult-mindedness if you do not have someone who has good social skills.
  2. Wear proper cultist attire during rituals to get a boost towards success and cosmic deity favor.
  3. Sacrifice pets or loved ones for bonuses to cosmic deity favor, if you dare.

There is a way to get another "Grimoire of the Occult" book.
1. Enable developer mode from the options menu.
2. Click 'Debug actions menu' icon at the top.
3. Click 'Tool: Try place direct thing...' option in Tools - Spawning list.
4. Search for "Grimoire of the Occult", click it.
5. The menu should disappear and the text "Grimoire of the Occult" will appear next to your cursor, now just click where you want to spawn it.

NOTE: In the developer menus there are search bars at the top left to make it easier to find objects and tools.

Awesome mod, played just a few hour with it but the deeper i get into it the more i like it :).
Can you tell me how to initiate colonists incapable of research into my cult (way to raise their cult-mindedness? They start fights non-stop. Having them around is starts to not be an option anymore, exspecialy since there is now a new thing i can use them for. *diabolic laugh*

I never got the incident, so, i had to dev mode it in and my colonists aren't actually researching anything from the cult, does the incident need to happen for it to actually be researched? I'm about 12 days in without an incident so i'm a little worried.

If you dev mode in the forbidden knowledge center bench, you can start researching occult things right away. When you research occult things, you will have your colonists turn to cultists.

Occult research is --- I believe -- always enabled as long as you have a forbidden knowledge center.

i really like this Mod, but it would be awsome to have a easy way to convert people.
I had 5 kolonist, 2 were at 99% and the other 3 somewere abou 0-10%.
The 3 guys killed one of the 99% guys.. thats not funny :c

We're adding in a new deity for A16 that utilizes brainwashing.
Also, worshipping will be rebalanced.

Currently it can only be cut down. In the future, I want to add an "extract seed" option to allow players to plant their own tree wherever they please.

Hello, very interesting mod here. I have some questions though,

I prayed at the alter to Dagon, sacrificed someone too. I selected the spell that i wanted.

How am i supposed to cast the spells? Do they automatically happen after you sacrifice someone? I picked the spell that gives me a treasure trove but nothing happened. Not sure if i'm supposed to cast it from somewhere or what.

You sacrifice someone to have the spell effect occur. After the human sacrifice, you will usually get the spell effect.
There are chances of failure, however.

What is the best way to get someone to LOSE cult mindeness? I'd like to see some group rivalry in the colony, make things more interesting
