As of the making of Update 1.4, it is Januaryand I am back to my wonderful dual-screen workstation, instead of a crappy Lenovo laptop.
Update 1.4 will introduce many new features to Fallen Empires Expanded. This will mark the final fallen empire ethos update until Stellaris 1.5 "Banks".
Update 1.3 will be released on (estimated) December 31st
A new development objective has been set:
• Two additional unique fallen empire
• One additional fallen empire homeworld
• Materialist/Militarist ethos and personality for fallen empires
• Inclusion of Undying Fortress as player starting homeworld
• One additional fallen empire star system type
• One new planet type
• Two additional fallen empire personalities
• Two additional subject types
This thread will allow for subscribers, you, to have an insight to what the next update will bring.
Thanks for reading!
The new unique fallen empire will be a Fanatic Pacifist empire, randomly generated with fanatic pacifist ethos only.
Preliminary work on War in Heaven integration is underway.
A slight change of plans. Actually a complete 180° in plans.
I'm switching this objective to a new special Militarist/Materialist fallen empire.
The scope of Fanatic Pacifist fallen empire has been expanded to an idea much larger than anticipated. That being said, implementation of unique and creative ideas has been the paramount goal of this mod.
The Fanatic Pacifist fallen empire has been envisioned to be a galactic UN-style peacekeepers, with its own special form of federation and game mechanics.
Unfortunately, with the concept in mind, I've done a basic self-evaluation of the time required for an overhaul as big as envisioned, and sadly, I feel I do not possess the adequate experience to push the idea through as of right now.
That being said, another concept, which was slated to be released far later, has been pushed to the forefront as smaller scale and doable concept.
I wish for this smaller scale idea to be a stepping stone of experience for me, as practice for the skills necessary for making the fanatic pacifist concept a reality.
More updates on the new militarist/materialist FE coming soon.
• One new planet type
That's damn right, Fallen Empires Expanded is getting its first unique habitable planet type.
With Update 1.4, far more emphasis is placed on carefully developing the lore and backstory of a more down-to-earth fallen empire.
This unique habitable world serves as the capital world of a fallen empire and provides a visual backstory as to what it is.
More details to come.
Due to the amount of work being put into this new fallen empire, we've decided to split it into two separate fallen empires that are allied, sharing the same territories and similar functions.
Two additional unique fallen empires will be appearing in Update 1.4
While to the outside observer, you may be baffled as to why there needs to be a split. All will be revealed in due time.
More info to come.
I'm currently trying to find out what is possible and what isn't. Progress is going amazingly fast, more features will be announced.
Thanks to the help of Folk, a fellow modder, I've been exploring the potential of a highly robust custom diplomacy menu.
This Update 1.4 will be the pilot for a custom diplomatic fallen empire.
More updates to come in the couple of days. Rest assured, the mod is always in the works.
The implementation of the Pacifist Fallen empire was originally envisioned as pacifist hypocrite; while being peaceful they instill force through militaristic military allies, much like contemporary USA.
However, the issue is that it becomes too similar to Fanatic Militarists, a repetition I want to avoid.
That being said, there is a significant lack of a friendly or welcoming faction in Stellaris, as if everyone in the entire galaxy is out there to kill off the player. Instead, I'm retooling the originally created Fanatic Pacifist for a new materialistic/militarist.
Its implementation is already 50% complete; however, the effort put into this empire is far more than anything previously.
I'm cancelling Update 1.4 to complete this project as rapidly as possible.
That being said Fanatic Pacifists will certainly come down the road.
