Development Insight of Update 1.6
Fallen Empire Expanded will be continuously updated and improved based on your feedback.

Under the previous primary developer Surfacerunner, Fallen Empires Expanded had a static update schedule, with everything meticulously planned and executed for a set date. This time around, I want to try something different as regards Fallen Empires Expanded's development. This change is not on a whim; the impending arrival of the Synthetic Dawn DLC and 1.8 "Capek" is likely going to prove challenging to us - we expect the game update and the DLC to break much of Fallen Empire Expanded's current content.

Therefore, the development of Fallen Empires Expanded will become much more fluid, with minor updates coming much more regularly. Instead of thinking of the below development objectives as being added to Fallen Empires Expanded as one single, big update, they are likely going to be added to this modification in phases. However, any new content will be part of the final 1.6 update.

We wish to provide YOU, the subscriber to this awesome mod, constant commentary and updates concerning the development and progress of the upcoming Update 1.5.

Update 1.6 objectives

Update 1.6's development objectives should be considered more fluid than those in previous updates. Any new content (marked with (C)) is going to be coming in the 1.6 update (currently no ETA for its release) however anything might come between now and then. Remember that after the 21st, considerable efforts will be made to update Fallen Empires Expanded for 1.8 "Capek" and for the Synthetic Dawn DLC, further delaying the completion of these objectives.

A new development objective has been set:
  • Psionically Ascended Spiritualist Fallen Empire (C)
    • New shipset
    • New Homeworld
    • Unique Awakening and War in Heaven mechanics
    • Unique Galactic Crisis mechanics
  • Additional unique systems for Fallen Empires (C)
  • Anomalies and Events for every Fallen Empire type (C)
  • New Synthetic Fallen Empire (C) (Depending on how Synthetic Dawn/1.8 pans out)
  • Militarist Fallen Empire shipset
  • More unique star systems for Fallen Empire territory.
  • Changes to the behaviour of Militarist and Hive Mind Fallen Empires during a crisis
  • Hive Mind Fallen Empire starts with a subject.
  • Conversion of existing homeworld initializers to use Megastructure sections where appropriate.

I've likely forgotten some, but I'll add them later!

Thanks for the update!

Maybe when a ship or ships are somewhat finished could you maybe add some pictures of them? I just like unique ships. It might be nice if you could add it as a playable ship as well.

Hey, just wanted to know, since you announced that you'd update the mod in a few weeks : will these features (or part of them) be implemented in the next update of your mod ? :)
