I have never even heard of this show before, so I had to do quite a bit of footwork on getting some screenshots of everything, some back story as to what the ship was used for, crew size, different sections of the ship, etc. What I found is this: IT'S EFFING HUGE. Not gonna be 6 miles long, sorry everyone! It will be very big, though. Matter of fact, it will actually be quite a bit larger than my Deimos battlecarrier, which is a Class-6 behemoth!
Without getting into too much detail (if you're that interested, go look up the info yourself!), this is definitely one weird ship, and one weird show! There are certain concepts and ideas in the show that simply can't and won't be reproduced here, it'd be absolutely impossible. Instead, I've chosen to focus on a key set of concepts that I feel are the most prominent features, things that should not only be relatively recognizable from the show, but also help keep this a highly-functional vessel.
* While not necessarily a feature of the TV show's ship, I do plan on making this landable on planets. While I have yet to work on this setup, it has already been planned/sketched out, and will be implemented when the rest of the ship is closer to its finished mass (so I can better calculate the upwards thrust needed).
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=819659749 Got the main section of the hull established, as well as where and how I want to set up the landing bays. Though you've absolutely no idea what's going on in my head or in my notes, I've been divising floor plans, as you can kind of see above. What you can clearly see though, are the start of two landing pads and the framework for the two rear hangars (between the green-dotted frames). You can see three distinct floors below this; the Prison will be the middle of the bunch. Rear engineering will extend backwards from the cross-section face depicted here.
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=819674272 Starting to carve out some of the primary detailing in the sides. Above, you are looking towards the back, down the starboard side. Reference 1[upload.wikimedia.org]. I realize the hangars look a bit out of place here, but given the MASSIVE downscaling I had to do to even make this realistic, I plan to essentially 'bury' or hide them in the detail I'll be adding throughout the rest of the side cutout. That's also why it's as deep as it is, but it'll be filled back in ;)
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=820560931 I'm still not 100% satisfied with the bow section, but after 4 rebuilds, I'm happy with the direction it's going (which is forward, to say the least).
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=820560276 I've begun construction of the rear/lower Prison section. This area includes 12 cells housing 24 inmates total, in a VERY secure area. There is a sentry gun per cell, as well as multiple throughout the rest of the section. A security/control room and lunch lines/kitchen area are in the works.
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=820561502 One of the 12 finished inmate cells. They can be seen into from the outside, but are completely shut off from the world when locked within.
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=821128784 The forward and aft cargo hangars act as a bridge between all 4 hangars, as each can be accessed through the central monitoring tower seen on the left side of this picture. Both aft hangar entrances can be seen to the right. Note the air vents on the left; each of these match up with the O2 supply piping from the the hangar O2 systems. Each section of the ship will include this level of precise detailing.
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=821129169 construction has begun on the upper housing and lower garden areas. Housing will have 8 apartments on this level, all directly accessible from each of the 4 hangars. These will be intended for anyone using the hangars (as sort of a 'hotel'), whereas crew quarters will be located elsewhere.
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=821129433 Prison inmate housing is complete for now, although construction on the kitchen, dining, and security areas need to be finished, but will coincide with construction of the lower garden/kitchen levels.
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=821566194 Detailing in this hangar is finished! I'm happy with how it's turned out; now to finish the other 3. Notice the finished fuel system below the landing pad. This is a VERY extensive piping system under this deck; pictures of the finished section to come soon!
