Removal of Extinction Core (Development is on hold)
I read the FAQ (about removal) but does anyone have any experience with removing Extinction Core from the mod load order?

I'm wondering how much damage will occur from dropping this EC. I've only been playing EC for a few months now, but it appears that the author is no longer going to develop the mod. I'm a bit worried my long term game will be affected, so I'm debating on removing the mod and going with something else, or possibly just restarting a fresh game if this isn't feasible at all.

You will lose basically everything. Tames, character and certain items. It’s a core mod. That means all of the dinos are custom and your character is tied to that mod. Unmodded survivors can go to lvl 100 but in ec, you lvl to 130 because of custom mapping.

Yeah, if you remove this, would be better to wipe server and start fresh with a new line up.

I would like to try and save the base. I tested removing last night. Character reverted back from level 110 or so to 93. Character respawns on entry to map. All Dino's gone, all EC items gone, character inventory clean. Base is ok and all other resources present.

My worry, is more things like kibble changes and the Exctinction DLC will be introduced. Nothing new is going to be addressed now. I think this is a semi valid option for us. I'm looking at introducing Primal Fear or Eternal, leaning towards PF.

This is a big issue with CORE mods. You never know when they will be abandoned or even updated. So they can break your game any time.

Primal Fear is not updated to included the new map extinction and the new creatures.

Pikkon is working on it now. He seems quite active...also Eternal is a good choice as well. Anyway, we moved to PF with a fresh game. Very sad to see EC go.

Some ancient core mods still work. Maybe a bit buggy bit his other mods still work
