Getting Dismounted while Fighting Bosses
My friend and I were doing our first attempt on a Lvl 35 Broodmother with some high leveling imprinted Daeodon's. During the fight we would randomly (or so it seemed) get dismounted. We cant mount again for around 5 seconds, if we can live that long.

Is this an intended mechanic that the boss' have? Is there anything we can do to counter this? I'm wonder if the size of the dino matters. Maybe we need to use larger size dinos?

Any tips are appreciated. Thanks

I've never used dinos that small before, but it's possible that her roaring dismount might be hitting you because they are so small. Not 100% sure.

Dismounting is something most of the Extinction Core bosses use, especially against flyers. (If it thinks you're flying, it'll dismount you, or if you ARE flying, it'll dismount you).

I would definitely try again with bigger non-flying dinos and see if you are more successful. It's possible the Daedon hitbox is just too small.

We tried again with an Alpha Bronto and Alpha Dodorexy. Neither of us got dismounted. So most likely you are right, the size of the dino matters.

I had another thought. Sometimes when adds are swarming you, they start to lift you up in the air (usually if you are on a small dino, like a daeodon). Maybe the anti cheese built into the mod detects this as flying, and dismounts you.

Either way, it seems using larger dinos is the answer. I'll report back if I find any new information.

What happens is that if the boss (or any dinos with Gravity Roar) senses that you're too far...even if they could just walk up to you, they automatically do gravity roar to dismount you. It seems the biggest dino that could be dismounted are allosaurus (not counting wyverns).
