just some ideas i had for what some other creatures could possibly do thanks for the great mod you actually made penguins worth taming :P
doed: obsidians/rocks? :D
beaver: woods/thatch?
Achatina (Pearls AND black pearls)
Pachyrhynosaurus (Bug repellant)
Therizinosaurus (Rare flowers AND rare mushrooms)
Doedicurus and/or Ankylo (Polymers AND Electronics)
Those with the "AND" would be EITHER one of the 2 (either rare flowers OR rare mushrooms, for instance)... or BOTH of them, depends on your choosing.
I will be trying this mod for a while. Had the mod called "Seven's Legendary Dino" but it seemed to limit the spawns of the new dinos on my personal server (Therizino, troodons and such)... haven't seen one in a week of playing regularly... hope this mod will fix this as I really want a Therizino and a Pegomastax!
The Achatina already creates paste, and I'd prefer to only have dinos create things which they would otherwise create themselves naturally in the wild.
I gotcha, actually, I was thinking more along the lines of a "X achatina paste for X pearls" kind of a converter.
What is the difference between the regular bug repelant and yours? Is it to keep the mod clean and stackable? or it has a different purpose?
Additionally, bug repellant only keeps bugs/spiders/mantas/etc... away, bio-repellant keeps ALL dino's from aggroing.
For instance, "Seven's Legendary Dinos" had a way to convert items "automatically" or "on demand" in the dino's inventory. For example, a Dire Wolf could convert (I believe) 10 hide into 1 pelt inside its inventory on demand, a Beelzebufo would convert Keratin/Chitin and Stone into Cementing Paste at (I believe) 50% cost on stone and 100% cost on Keratin/Chitin "automatically" though (you had to put the items in its inventory and it would do it on a timer).
I believe this could be a really neat idea to incorporate into this mod based on your idea you already have. The player could combine a Mortar and Pestle along with a certain skin to allow ANY dino to convert items.
For instance, there could be these skins:
Organic Polymer & X to Polymer
Pearls & X to Electronics
Meat (any) to Spoiled meat
Achatina paste to Cementing paste
Meat & Blood pack to Leech blood
Stone & Flint to Gunpowder
Crystal & Stone to Silicar pearls
Oil & Pearls into Black pearls AND Crystal & Black pearls into Pearls
They would need to be combined with a Mortar and Pestle to allow the player to convert these resources inside a dino's inventory (much like the "Carrot on a stick" skin on a fishing rod that creates the item passively, this one would be "on demande")
If for whatever reason this is NOT possible without touching dino spawns, please ignore this post or comment why (I'd like to know, since it made me mad that "Seven's Legendary Dinos" DID alter the spawns)
Thanks a lot !
I would prefer to keep this a passive ability, and the items created to be more organic or relative to the dino's natural creation functionality. i.e. Wolves naturally shed, leaving pelt, Megalodons naturally regrow teeth regularly, leaving some teeth loose, etc...
Would it be possible to create a similar mod for "pet converters" then, or you don't feel this "pet converters" thing at all? Since you already have the basics done, I think it would be somewhat easy to do (I'm not saying it would be, as I don't know how to do it and don't even want to think about it) and would be more flexible to people.
Will be testing the update somewhere this week, hope it fixes the "unequip, reequip" bug, annoying but easily manageable even if it doesn't.
To get it started again, you will have to take the carrot off of the stick, put them both back in the inventory of your pet, and drag the carrot back onto the stick again.
They will produce while encumbered, if you don't wan't them to move.
I am also thinking of making the bio-repellant turn your character invisible, and give them the ability to steal items from players and dinos. How would you guys like that feature?
