Cage Structures: Back to the Roots
BLiNNeMaNS 3 Jan, 2017 @ 12:20am
mats, stats and exp reference used
As the header suggests, was hoping to get an update on the basics before i put this on my server... (as i really like the whole idea and the models used)

A lot of building mods tend to choose a random number and doing so outbalance the total experience (without a manual engram override) and allow mass build exploits.
(getting more exp than the cloth hat/wooden foundation/wooden raft leveling sequence)

so my 3 questions:
is the exp equal or lower to wooden structures?
if it's equal or higher, what are the mats used?
if it's higher, how much?
what are the stats hitpoint wise?

To answer the questions: the cage structures are made out of the stone structures and I just left the gained exp and the hitpoints as they where. The crafting materials are similar to the wood structures but less wood, more thatch and more fiber (Gate and Pillar also need stone and hide).

I made quite some thoughts about balance, but I still wanted the structures solid and easy to build, especially in SP. So no cementing paste, stone just dont makes sense for most buildings. I may add hide to all of the construction costs, for more balance. They are also accesable in early game, you should not have to learn about electricity before you learn how to tie a few logs together.

Feel free to try out and give feedback, nothing is carved in stone yet :)

thanks for the update, i've altered the title for quick reference

at the moment my test server is used for the 1st pvp experience (3v3v3v3) for our gaming crew, and i won't test in a live environment.
That said, after i read the reply i don't think i need to test that much ;)
Guess i'll do a quick test when between seasons and add it to the server for the next pvp session.
Thanks for this great addition

Don't forget, people can change the crafting cost of these pieces on their own with the Crafting Cost Override.

I believe i will do that myself and if so, i can post the code.

This is a great way to use bones like sauropod or keratin or Trex (that cage window!) if a persons server uses this with more a RP elements & cannibals and what not coupled with EcoRP decor skull stuff, big win win.

Out of curiosity, Did you end up doing this? If so, I would love the code. ;)
