How do you want to open this file? On Start Up
Hello,

I'm back again with another problem ;-; I'm so sorry! Windows 10 pushed out an update that caused some of my file to be corrupted and one of the things that I think got corrupted was a file for this wallpaper. When it starts up I get this message:

How do you want to open this file?

“C:\Program Files (x86)\m2tools CheeseWare\EmoteMovieMaker\motioneditor.exe” “%1”

And then I have to pick from a list of apps that do not work with this .exe file. If I go into WE and start it up there, it works fine. I'm not sure what the problem is this time. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Have you ever installed this EmoteMovieMaker? Did you once tried to open NekoWallpaper.exe (or other files from this wallpaper) from that motioneditor.exe? I think there might be a problem for your default startup program for .exe files.
If you really think there is some file corrupted, you can try re-download this wallpaper, just un-subscribe it, delete all local files, and re-subscribe it.

BTW, where did you get this EmoteMovieMaker? It doesn't seem to be the free version which should be emofuri.exe.

Nope ;; I tried re-downloading the wallpaper, unsubscribed, deleted local files, and then resubbed, but I still get the pop-up. And sadly, I have no idea where EmoteMovieMaker came from D:

I installed the E-mote software, changed my locale to install it, and tried looking for emofuri.exe in my files, but I could not find it. The only useable .exe file I have is krkrz.exe which is what launches E-mote.

Then I tried deleting the "m2tools CheeseWare" folder, but it still did not help. I'm so sorry about all of this!

When you right click on NekoWallpaper.exe, what's the first (bold) option in context menu?
Go to registry (regedit.exe) and find
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\exefile
and see if there are some keys in it with value like
“C:\Program Files (x86)\m2tools CheeseWare\EmoteMovieMaker\motioneditor.exe” “%1”
. If there are, change the value to
%1 %*
.

When I right click it, the first bold option is Open. I went into my registry and I could not find those keys. Should I e-mail you what I have in that section?

I don't think there will be any clue then, but if you want me to have a look, you can export "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\exefile" and "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*" and "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.exe" as .reg files and send them to me.
That should be something wrong in your system config and I don't think there is anything wrong in my wallpaper. I can only suggest you try reset all default program settings.

Sadly, it looks pretty normal for those reg files. Maybe you have to perform a search for
C:\Program Files (x86)\m2tools CheeseWare\EmoteMovieMaker\motioneditor.exe
in regedit, starting from root (that might be quite slow!). Whenever you found one value, export that or delete that if you believe it caused the issue.
