Problems from the past two week or so (fixed, was somehow outdated on my end)
Every now and then, I'll notice that item descriptions stop showing up mid-run, and eventually after that the game will crash. I first noticed this behavior within the last week or two. I haven't subscribed to any new mods since February, and the only ones that updated during this timeframe were this, Potato Pack 2 (which I primarily use for blacklisting some items), and Even More Shopkeepers. I (anecdotally) find that disabling either this or Potato Pack 2 will prevent this from happening.

Today, I opened the console immediately when a description failed to appear, and the output was a bunch of repeating instances of
"PostRender" failed: ...xternal item descriptions_836319872/features/eid_api.lua:752: invalid pattern capture

My log.ini doesn't seem to show any obvious-to-me smoking gun before ~20,000 lines of that error, unfortunately. If I restart BOI to reload that room (a freshly killed boss), Brother Bobby is the pedestal item boss reward, and I see the EID description for a split second before it disappears. For all I know this is Potato Pack's fault, but I thought I'd report it here first since I see EID in the log.

You seem to have an old version of EID installed. Please do the following steps to cleanly reinstall the mod:
1. Unsubscribe from the mod.
2. Start the game and go into the main menu (this will uninstall the mod properly)
3. Close the game
4. Subscribe to the mod (this will install the mod again)
5. Start the game and see if that fixed the issue

I followed your instructions to the letter, and since I left that run where it was, I was able to confirm that this is resolved (I could resume that run and see EID's description pop up properly instead of flickering and producing error logs).
