Factions:

- Rome: the old Roman Empire has been transformed. Rome now has much less territory to start but is still in control of their provinces through client state relationships. This should make them easier to manage and maintain while also giving you areas to reconquer if you decide to regain their former territories.

- Province of Gaul: probably the richest and most important province of Rome. You have a vast stretch of territory to start but you are also facing the barbarian incursions. You must defend you eastern borders and decide when to strike out on your own.

- Province of Hispania: well protected natural borders and strong cavalry make this faction formiddable. Your best option may be to look to Africa for expansion.

- Provinve of Germania: you represent the people who were the most distant of those conquered by the old empire. Hailing originally from Sarmatia your people are strong and hardy horsemen. You have been granted the harshest of the provinces. Many feel that the empire wants your people to die off while protecting their most dangerous border. You may want to think about switching allegiances to the barbarians you are surrounded by.

- Province of Britannia: now isolated and surrounded by enemies you have a difficult start. However, if you succed in gaining control of the British Isles you will have an almost impenetrable defensive postion from which to start your conquests.

- Province of Africa: your situation is much different than the other provinces. You are not a client state. You are an ethnically diverse and multicultural powerhouse that Rome itself must respect if they wish to continue trade. You are at war with the local African factions as they try to evict you from their continent. Your path to forming an empire is wide open.

- Theme of Egypt: you have a great starting position with strong faction traits. You are not anyones client state but you do have allies in Byzantium. You can expand in almost any direction.

- Achaian Rebellion: extremely difficult start! You are a romanized greek faction that looks to recapture the essence of ancient greek warrior civilization, culture and religion. You are in rebellion to the romans in greece and have only one ally, the Theme of Crete. You may want to expand slowly and methodically as one mistake can kill your dreams of conquest.

- Byzantium: as with Rome you have much less territory but are still in control of most of your client states. It might be best for you to quickly conquer those pesky Achaians and Cretans to begin to re-solidify your hold on the region.

- Theme of Palestine: you start in the Holy Land and you have an uprising to deal with immediately in the people of Judea. They have a horde in your lands and they may look to conquer it. Quickly deal with them because there can be only one ruler of Palestine.

- Theme of Crete: you are a greco-roman pagan/naval powerhouse. You navies are unmatched and you can establish dominance on the water. You may want to aid you only ally, the Achaian Rebellion, in their fight against Byzantium and its Themes. After that you will be free to rules the waves and build your own empire.

- Gutes: you have arrived at Britannia in a horde from the island of Gutland seeking pillage and plunder. You have a choice to make whether to move north and eliminate or subjugate the celtic tribes, or to move south and begin your conquest of Britannia.

- Teutons: your people once occupied lands near Gaul but were beaten back by the Roman advance many years ago. They have since found a new home far from Roman rule where they have rebuilt themselves into an efficent war machine. Now you must decide your next course of action. Go south and take on the Slavic nations, or go west through the barbarians and eventually make it back to your old homeland and take revenge on Rome itself.

- Judea: you are in open revolt in Palestine. Your army may be small but it is filled with zeal and desire for to regain your homeland, the Holy Land, promised to you in your holy scriptures. You may want to immediately strike to weaken your enemy and strengthen your own force. There can be only one ruler of the Palestine.

- Sabirs: sweeping in from the far east your hordes are ready for conquest. However, they are also ready to settle in and rule any area you deem fit. Once you settle you will have use of the Slavic building chain. Your path is wide open.

- White Huns: you now have the ability to settle and make use of Eastern Sassanid building chains. You can also create an empire by completing the mission.

- Goths (Visigoths and Ostrogoths): with the changes in political landscapes in Rome you have been granted land in Pannonia. Your nations are strong allies and together you may be able to halt the advance of the Huns and other nomads from your new postion of strength.

finally, someone have Judea as a playable faction instead of me going to keep taking whatever faction and waste time to try and just change religion. thank you :-)

The newest Terminus update killed the recruitment list for Corinthian revolt, unless you build military buildings you can't recruit, not even basic units.

For some reason my chance to assassinate Atilla is 0% even though I have a 95% chance of success. Does this mod make Atilla immune to assassination? I can't find any documentation saying so.
