So, footsteps and sounds instantly crash my game.

I go on Garry's Mod and play a regular map. I turn into any character, and i walk. The SECOND it makes a footstep, it freezes and then just crashes. Is there anyway to fix this? I hate it when sounds cause an unexpected crash.
