has anyone found the definitive formula for 'finding facilities'
Apart from go on mission with 'Find A lead' in them. you can'y always hack the officer...how and where exactly is the 'find a lead' info...anywhere on that mission ? its so dubious

Ik this discussion is quite old but i just thought i'd share my idea.

I don't think there is a sure-fire way to obtain facility leads, but if you run LW2 with other mods then it is possible to find facility leads more often. For example, the alien pack someone made with the black-ice codex enemy - the black ice codex 'corpse' can be converted to a single facility lead.

Ofc, there are a great deal of lw2 missions with less than 18 hours infiltration time with 'extrememely heavy' alien activity which you can suicide XCom into just to get 1 facility lead.

Win a 'Find a Lead' mission. Then you get Rescue VIP and Capture VIP missions. After them you get a 'hack the Tower' mission to Liberate a region. Amongst that lot somewhere is the facility lead.

AFAIK, if you have done liberation 1 (you can check in the region overview, a dot means you did it), any "find a lead" mission is either a facility lead, or a UFO.

That has not been the case for me. 'Find a Leads' often result in nothing other than the above mentioned. Skulljacking Officers does not always reveal anything useful etc

When the mission says "find a lead" and that is all, nothing else, and you haven't done liberation 1, then this will be lib 1. If you have already done a liberation mission (noted by dots on the haven management next to the haven name) then you have a ufo. A facility lead will have both "find a lead", and "intel package" as the rewards, the package is the lead, but, this is random, as the package can be anything, money, intel, rookies, ammo, whatever, and possibly a lead. This randomness is complete ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, especially once your doom meter is full and the package is kicking out rookies and other ♥♥♥♥, instead of facility leads. I played 2 campaigns back to back, not one ♥♥♥♥'en lead, and lost to the doom meter both times (but at least I got some rookies, to toss in front of Archons, Mutton Elites, and other top ranked enemies - rookies are the best in late game). Needless to say, doom meter gets shut off from this point on.

Look in the workshop for the 'Facilty Hunt' Mod if you want. However Facilties are not as important in LW2 as in Vanilla. The Doom mtr is best chopped down by HQ missions
