Overwhelming, or Totally Worth It?
I'm absolutely infatuated with XCOM 2 right now. I jumped on super late, but the game is exceptional. I'm currently making my way through the base game (non-WotC) and am excited to start WotC with a bunch of mods activated when I do.

One of those mods was the WotC variant of this mod. I'm aware that this isn't it, but figured this discussion would be better here. My concerns are that, despite the fact this mod seems to introduce a significant amount of features that I would super love, I'm worried it'll make the more tedious or negative elements of the game worse.

As an example, I already find it a little time-consuming when controlling 6 agents. I'm really meticulous, and I feel any more than 6 soldiers to consider (+12??), with all their abilities etc., will exponentially hamper the satisfaction behind controlling that tight unit. It also lessens that personal attachment I form with them all - more soldiers dilutes their individual importance.

In addition, the Geoscape management is not the vanilla game's best feature. I'm concerned about having to spend more time looking at interfaces and menus than I would be fighting and dying.

Any help is appreciated! I've been scouring Pavonis' help pages and the wiki for more information to help me make the choice. The mod looks great and I hope I love it, but I want to ensure I'm the right person for it! More time in XCOM 2 only seems like a good thing right now.

No ill-will intended. The mod looks fantastic.

TLDR: Find managing 6 soldiers to be a little time-consuming already (but still satisfying), more seems daunting, and the Geoscape is not terribly fun in vanilla XCOM 2 - looks like this mod expands on having to spend more time there. Is this mod for me?

If 6 soldiers is too much, then it’s probably best you wait until that becomes easily manageable before picking up LW2. However, one of the most intriguing elements of LW2 is the flexible squad size. Sending less soldiers is often optimal depending on the mission type, so you may have many operations with 5< soldiers. However, there will be a deal of 12 soldier missions that drag on for numerous turns with many moving parts and mechanics. If you’re looking to expand the game without expanding the size of battles, I’d recommend trying spectrum green.

That's really insightful, thanks Aramis. Looking into Spectrum Green, and seeing that it hasn't been touched in a while, maybe I'll just need to get used to the higher squad numbers. There seems to be far too many positive elements that LW2 introduces.

Do you play LW2 yourself? Or Spectrum Green? How have you found either if so?
