Q: The Avikan seem similar to the Avali, how come?
A: While the Avikan and Avali may seem similar, the two races are completely unrelated. The Avikan originate from an online roleplay which existed long before I knew about the Avali. And while both may be nomads often living in tents, the Avikan are nomads for vastly different reasons, and the races of both cultures are vastly different. The similar appearance is a coincidence, and a result of Starbound's pixel art: any raptor-like race is bound to look similar when there are so few pixels to use. RyuujinZERO, the creator of the Avali, has also confirmed that while the sprites look similar, they are not a copy of the Avali's.

Q: What is the Elithian Alliance?
A: The Elithian Alliance was a forum-based roleplay, which started on the Spore forums years ago, then migrated to its own website. All races and all lore from the mod are part of the fictional universe created for this roleplay. The roleplay lasted for several years, so the lore is plentiful and detailed! The Elithian Alliance itself is an alliance between a multitude of interstellar nations, the headquarters of which stands on Elithia: the planet where the Alliance was first created.

Q: I want to craft items and objects specific to a certain race, but I don't want to play as that race myself. How do I do this?
A: You can unlock (almost) all crafting recipes from a certain race by obtaining a Crafting Guide. Crafting Guides for every race can be obtained through a specific quest (e.g. Avikan Crafting Techniques for the Avikan Crafting Guide. The quests are available to any character and have no requirements - you can start them immediately! Look in the following places for these quests:

Trinkian Crafting Techniques: Any Trinkian settlement (given by the large central terminal)

Q: Where do I find the Starfarer's Refuge?
A: There is a teleporter in every Avikan settlement that links directly to the Starfarer's Refuge. Additionally, Avikan and Droden characters can craft a teleporter at the Avikan Workman's Table, which will also directly link to the Starfarer's Refuge. Once you're there, you can bookmark the teleporter at the Translocator Store for quick and easy access!

Q: Where do I find the new settlements?
A: Settlements for each race can be found on planets with climates that are favoured by that race. For example, Avikan settlements are found on desert and arid planets, while Trinkian settlements are found on snow and frozen planets.

Q: Where do I find Sandcrawlers, Sandspitters, Stingwing Swarms or Valahr?
A: All these creatures are found in the new Desert Wetlands biome, which is commonly found as a sub-biome on desert planets. You may have to visit several instances of these biomes before finding every type of creature, but the spawn rates for these creatures are very high. Please note that users of Frackin' Universe may find it more difficult to find this new biome: FU adds a great number of new biomes, reducing your chances of finding any specific biome.
