I actually find him to have a unique playstyle. You get almost unlimited bombs if you find the health, however, if there is no health, you have to weight whether taking damage to set a bomb for a rock or room is necessary. If you lower yourself to one heart on a devil deal, it makes bombing objects much more risky.
However, it is your opinion. I just find this version better than the last, as he's enjoyable. :)
Charred went through a lot different iterations before arriving where he is right now, and currently I'm pretty happy with how he plays. I don't think I'm going to make large changes, but I may tweak values here and there if more people feel that he's not unique enough.
-Bombs should come from your Red Hearts first when you have spirit hearts. Otherwise spirit hearts become kinda useless as you need to immediately get rid of them.
-Using bombs and hurting yourself shouldn't affect the deal with the Devil, it should be like an IV bag. Always, people blow up tinted rocks to get protection from taking red heart damage, but with Charred it's pointless as you lose your chance when you blow up.
Just some things you might not have thought of.
