Vaxar Galatine

blade is too thick, the guard isnt substantial enough, and the sword needs more color
for the blade:
make the blade thiner
make it go from thick to thin not thinish, thick, thin

for the guard
just reference an actual Zweihänder

other:
you need more color contrast to make the different zones stand out more

Unfortunately, people don't seem to care about making it look like an actual sword.

People like big blades and making the blade thiner sounds really boring

We are pseudo-bioorganic-cyborg ninjas running around killing things with void-magicks that rend spacetime and cross planes of existence. Because "realism" is something we're trying to so closely align with..
Also, search a "cinquedea" or similar swords. Many swords had NO GUARD whatsoever and were still completely effective.

but would we be able to do it if our handle broke?

The cinquedea was a civilian weapon though, it wasn't designed to parry a sword. A better example of a sword without a guard would be all the African swords with "nub" guards. At the same time though, cinquedeas and African swords are very different from the European great swords which the Galatine was based on.

Well let's just take into account that it still looks pretty cool. I do agree that the blade could be made thinner, but overall the composition of the weapon seems pleasing to look at and beautifully archaic in nature. If the model were to be altered in any way, I personally think it might look nice if it was changed to resemble the Scottish claymore.

I don't think you can call it archaic, if it never existed it can't be old. It looks like a giant dagger, not any real sword.

This sword is awesome, how about it stays the exact same way
Inq182 22. mar. 2017 kl. 14:56
might aswell make another sword, since you obviously want a zweihander. no need to change this one

It still bothers me how people act as if swords are blunt. Making a sword bigger in width makes it worse, how do people see it as more powerful looking?

Because it looks funny seeing things get hit by a large object and because of Guts from Berserker and Cloud from Final Fantasy
